OK, fair points, but if you rate Malignaggi NOW then you should give credit to Cotto if he blows him away. Obviously it would be difficult to tell if that would have been because Cotto is too good or Malignaggi is poor, but winning well has to be better than winning close ceteris paribus, as it is in this case.

See my answer on #10 that I wrote to "jabsrstiff". With Cotto atleast you somewhat know because of the opponents he's faced but with Paulie he could 100% be the real deal or a 100% be a joke who's made a living against bums

of course, i'm a pretty objective fight fan, and just because hes PR doesn't mean i'm an automatic fan ... but i've always believed the hype surrounding cotto.

but if he loses tomorrow night, it will vindicate all the naysayers and convert me to believe that the hype machine was just running on all cylinders.

Same here, I would boldly admit that I was wrong & bow down to everyone who said that Cotto was over rated.

I can't see Cotto losing this one though.

I never respected Hatton's skills cuz in my opinion he lacks some. Never had anything negative to say about Joe but I give him his props for making Lacy fight so easy. If I like a fighter I will never post anything negative about him, just the reality. If my fighter loses to a bum I will admit it. I like Cotto and if he loses to Paul, he lost to a C- level fighter.

If it just so happens that The Pizza Man has the style to beat Cotto then I wouldn't knock Cotto but would give mad respect to Pauli. Paulis faster and slicker, we know that and that might give Cotto problems. With all that said, Cotto TKO 8.

Cotto will not lose this fight. This fight is going to be short. Paulie has nothing. When he steps in the ring he is going to be scared. He is not ready for this. He is in this for a nice payday. Look at the kid for christ sake! He is a pretty boy. You think he is going to be fighting for 5 more years or so?

This fight is going to be short. Cotto is going to get to him early. Malinaggi is going to quit or the ref will stop the fight in between 4 rounds. Paulie always complains about his hands breaking and all. Paulies hands are going to break on saturday night.

Some of Cotto's opponents have had good footwork but nothing like Paulie's. Basically Cotto has to chase Paulie down and pressure him into staying still and taking punishment to win, and what happens will depend on just how big the difference is in their footspeed. I expect there will be a huge difference and Cotto will have trouble even touching Paulie, but Cotto is still fast and strong enough to make it hard for Paulie to get his shots off without being hit. Basically, I'm saying that since the fight was announced, I have always thought that this will be a tough fight for Cotto to win. I have not changed my mind, and if Cotto loses I won't change my opinion of him as I have never been sold on him and even if he wins I don't think he'll get the KO and he'll still look bad in doing it.

Cotto's biggest problem is that he is far too mechanical. His punches don't come off naturally, everyone of them seems planned out.
Paulie's style would be the kind to expose that flaw.....but I think Paulie is not as slick as the chump squad he's faced has made him appear.

Cotto is going to KO this guy. Body shots are going to start from round one. Paulie could run all he wants. When he get tied up in the corner and gets close to Cotto. Left to the body. **** Cotto might even double up. Paulie is going down fast.

I read another post that said Paulie could be 100% the real deal or 100% pretender, and I agree with that, he looks great against chumps but he has no fights against name opponents so it's hard to tell exactly where he's at.
