I think the spirit is willing but his body can't handle it any more. He had a number of shots and more than not, he failed and that's OK. But he's to the point where he is going to start embarrassing himself and that's not cool. Leave with a bit of dignity in tact.
Same, Haye was actually easy to admire all the way up until the Ruiz fight, thats where it started to go wrong.

Up until that point he had stuck it to the establishment, became the #1 cruiserweight in the world in beating mormeck who was very respected at the time then went to germany and won a heavyweight title away from home too.

Since then its all gone downhill and we are talking everest style. At one stage hayes popularity wasnt terribly far off anthony joshuas, now hes hated and ridiculed.

David's best performances were at cruiser his wins at heavy weren't special .His stone and a half extra on his return did him no good.

Tony needs to wait for Haye to mend as he loses to all the heavies. They are both not top heavies and are lucky that their fight has the interest that it has. This may actually lose some appeal now and look to Hearn to try and wriggle some purse money away.

Haye has unfortunately lost his best years and really even a win over Tony wouldn't mean that much.......remember it was supposed to be a mismatch.

Agreed. He peaked at Cruiserweight. Hard to believe it was so long ago He and Wlad fought, but it was. The one thing I admired that got me pulling for him was his shameless repugnant trash talking that made a fight with Wladimir a reality. The heavyweight scene today is a disappointment with the lack of that furnace of ambition to move mountains and get the fights that matter.

But yea, as we all saw, Haye didn't have a dynamic game plan and Wlad had him figured out pretty early.
It was really unfortunate to see something like that duo, with so much potential, leave such a black eye on the sport. I figured if anything, Haye could rebound and methodically work his way back up through the division to show he's serious about what he's espousing (as being the next best thing), building momentum for a rematch. But sadly he proved Wlad and many others right when they said he was a phony, only in it for the fame and fortune at that point. And that is exactly what's defined his legacy. Sold himself short for short term glitz and glamour. At his advanced age with a withering body and a mediocre chin/legs, I don't see much hope considering the Ken Norton like style he uses. Being a purely one-trick-pony outside fighter isn't enough for a guy with one foot in and one foot out of the sport to overcome the odds.

Haye has no heart - if he can't hurt his opponent easily he tends to be distraught and uncomfortable. I hope Bellew KOs him again and then gets the Wilder fight if Wilder stops ducking every single Heavyweight with a pulse...

It's only a minor injury, but this comeback from a big shoulder injury has already had 2 injuries in his 2 year comeback making him unavailable for 1 year out of the 2 years. How at 37 years old is he going to be able to unify the heavyweight division now?

I was so hoping for Haye to make a comeback. There's no theatrics here btw, genuine injury - he wouldn't risk millions by pulling out.
