What would you prefer: Entertainment inside the ring or outside the ring or both?

Obviously, some of the boxing fans tend to be extremely entertained by events that occur outside the ring which are totally irrelevant to actual boxing inside the ring. To the point where they criticize boxers who don't perform those 'entertaining' actions outside the ring. Such as calling Anthony Joshua 'boring', 'stiff', 'robotic' and etc because he doesn't make a nuisance out of himself outside the ring. On the other hand, we have Wilder putting in WWE like theatrics and a lot of those same fans are praising Wilder for being so entertaining. My points about Wilder also applies for Fury.

Yet, the question is, would you rather see one of the most entertaining boxing bouts inside the ring (as was the case with Anthony Joshua vs Wladimir Klitschko) with nothing but professionalism outside the ring? Or would you rather see entertainment outside the ring pre-fight such as through trash talking, theatrics and so forth with a relatively less entertaining match inside the ring (as was the case with Tyson Fury vs Wladimir Klitschko)? Or would you rather see both?

I personally choose the first option!

I like good fights. Pre-fight antics might build up hype and anticipation, but a boring fight turns people off.

I only care about the fight. I don't care at all about what bragging boxers say they are going to do. That's just talk and I am a fight fan, not a talk fan. There are exceptions to what I just said. I did find the pre fight talk of the Mayweather vs Conor fight entertaining but normally I don't care about hype before the fight.

        Entertainment in the ring.

There's nothing worse than seeing an exciting build up and good trash talk between fighters before the fight only to have them hug and run away from each other for 12 rounds.

That's why I don't take pre-fight trash talk seriously anymore because it's always manufactured to promote the fight. Legit bad blood is rare these days.

If I want to get hyped up for a boxer's next fight, I'll watch their previous fights. No need to see the ****** shiet they have to say on Twitter.

The best of all situations is a lot of prefight hype and trash talk followed by a fight that actually lives up to the hype in some way or another.

Mayweather vs McGregor, no matter what some of us purist actually think of the fight, is an example of this.

Lots of trash and spectacle beforehand, followed by a compelling-albeit technically lacking- fight in the ring.

That's why Malignaggi or DLH talking about fighting Conor is still instant media tripwire.

Casuals loved it and even we purists are still talking about it from time to time.

            Idiotic theory, Maxi.

Your alts never fail bruh. Justifying being "quiet" outside the ring...just because you don't like the general difference of human characters..ironically your dumbass still doesn't understand boxing is a grimey sport as it was from its inception.

We know why you roll with GGG, Maxi. You're just soft guy at the coffee shop that likes to observe others and probably wouldn't defend yourself if someone stole your seat....

The pre fight hype gets me more excited for the fight so I welcome it. Obviously, I want the fight to be exciting but the crowd being loud and hot because of the pre fight hype makes the experience of watching a fight that much more enjoyable for me.

I can't stand the majority of pre-fight stuff. Mainly because it is as you say, fake hype. It's like "The Boy Who Cried Wolf." Gets old really fast. I even find the face-offs unneccessary to be honest.

                  100.

For a guy who's ranked in the p4p...

You wonder why many were disgusted with "154-168 ez fomi" hype and never doing anything about it since 2013. Even worse, an industry narrative since 2010 that nobody wants to fight him..

So what does a boxer do? Just chill there up until 2018 ffs...

Do your fighting in the ring. Entertain the fans with your fists, not your mouth. Most fighters like Wilder reveal just how dumb and clueless they are every time they open that hole under their nose. Just shut up and fight, and fight someone competitive.
