Question for the Juice about Eubank/Graham...

Note: I should have put this in Boxing History, I know.

Juice, in Boxing 2006/KO magazine (Ring's sister magazine) it describes Herol Graham as someone who boxed Eubank's head off in sparring and was consequently avoided by Eubank as a pro competitor. It also said Nigel Benn ducked Bomber as well.

Are you aware of this, and what are your thoughts on it?

Ofcourse I'm aware of it, everybody is.

Eubank travelled up to the Wincobank gym to spar in March 1988 and it apparently took him six weeks to lay a glove on Bomber! That's obviously exaggerated, but basically Eubank (or Eubanks as his name was then) was made to look silly at first. Chris said that he'd never seen anything like Herol when he was in New York, and wondered what the hell he had in front of him. He says it took him six weeks to figure Bomber out.

They sparred again, at Barney Eastwood's stable in Belfast in May 1989, and this time Eubank (he'd just changed his name to Eubank - deleting the 's', and had just signed for Barry Hearn) just walked out after a few rounds because Bomber was messing about and wouldn't get into exchanges. Eubank knew that if he could get to grips with Bomber (the ultimate defensive wizard) then he would have little problems getting to grips with Randy Smith (Smith himself was quite well-known as a real defensive wizard, in America), but he walked out because Bomber wasn't taking it seriously. And Bomber was pissed off because he then had no real quality sparring for the McCallum fight.

'Eubanks' had just used good ole Winston Burnett as target practice, and showed against Burnett that he knew all the tricks of the trade (despite being a novice pro)! 'Eubanks' said in the post-fight interview after the Burnett fight that he was the most experienced boxer in Britain having had five years of gym wars in the Bronx on a daily basis. Brendan Ingle saw 'Eubanks' say this, and invited him up to Sheffield to get his ass handed to him ('Eubanks' ended up staying for six weeks, obsessed with trying to figure Bomber out).

Kevin Mitchell charts the tragic decline of a boxing legend and says those who knew him realised it was inevitable.

Oh and stories that Eubanks saw a 14-year-old Naseem Hamed jumping the ropes the first time he stepped foot in the Wincobank gym and ended up copying it from Naz is absolute bull****.. Naz is lying out of his ass. I have Eubanks' fights with Brown and Cannida, and he's jumping the ropes back then. It was Naz who stole it from Chris, his idol!

Mendy offered Bomber increasing offers all throughout the summer of 1988 of up to £250,000 to fight Benn - Bomber wouldn't go near him.

Annie, get hold of the Eubank's massacre onto Welsh bodybuilding champion Denys Cronin in that hostile atmosphere and make sure you have the pre and post fight interviews. Eubank says "Michael Watson, Nigel Benn, you are not capable of beating me, my skills are far superior to yours. Herol Graham is the only middleweight in this country who can touch me, I would say that I am the only middleweight in Europe who can probably beat this man (Graham) - I know how, I have to know how."

I Spotted The Prince In Eubanks Entourage Before Eubanks Fight With Anthony Logan, The Prince Looked Really Young And His Hair Was All Brushed To One Side And His Dumbo Ears Even More Prominent, He Was Shouting For Eubank During The Fight
