american promoters need to start matching their guys against other ameircan promotoes, and with the big promoters abroad. this has got to stop.

i like jacobs, but he should never be in a main event as the A side at this stage in his career. ever.

i'm also finding HBO to be increasingly cringeworthy where commentary is concerned. i understand that these guys are employed by HBO, and that hbo is basically a promotor now, but FFS i don't need to you to speculate about a "potential fight of the year" in the third round. makes me want to warf, punch max kellerman, and sit jim lampley down for a serious, "come to jesus" conversation.
Yep, noticeable difference in the commentary between now and last March when he faced GGG and wasn't an HBO "guy".

Who cares what the numbers were the fight was boring, wasted my Saturday night watching this crap fight. Arias did more talking before the fight than putting up a fight in the ring. Need to be more entertaining if you want to be elite, Jacobs. Not live off going 12 with the G-man the rest of your fight career. Even Fat Dan predicted a k.o for you.

Matchroom Rocnation and Golden boy promoted the show...Not just one promoter

Weight divisions don’t matter lmao. You think Wilder, AJ l, or Parker could do better numbers than Manny and Floyd just because they’re heavyweights lmaoooo
I wasn't aware of Jacobs holding a title...
Wilder is a current Heavyweight Title holder and fought someone who held that title... Stirevene was much more well known than Arias

Weight classes do matter. Oscar, Manny and Floyd became huge post Oscar Dela Hoya. They had pretty damn good PPV numbers and Floyd obviously the best ever however pretty much the whole world loves seeing heavyweights. The only issue is boxing has been boring or dead at this weight and the torch bearer of Wlad was never going to be that great since he was boring and not a US citizen.

I enjoy all weight classes personally but casuals tend to enjoy either loudmouths or big guys

LOL welcome to UK commentary. It actually hypes up the casual fans. Hopefully your refs don't become like British refs

I'd rather slap max & punch jim. Tell Roy to keep up the good work & say a little more what you REALLY want to say but can't cuz you work with hbo. Would be nice to see Roy, Ward & Paulie all together commentating a fight.

Gotta be honest here, if HBO never did another fight again I wouldn't care in the least. They have 3 people sitting ringside, 1 a ATG fighter who could probably break down every single move a fighter makes in the ring. Another who is a legendary broadcaster who's one of the best in the whole business regardless of sport. And another who is very intelligent and seemingly well versed in all aspects of sports if you listen to him on First take discussing a multitude of different topics. So instead focusing that knowledge and intelligence on whats happening in the ring, they choose to do nothing but swallow the **** of the house fighter regardless of how horrible they look or how much of a mismatch their main events have become.

HBO boxing has become a joke. They need to reinvent themselves somehow or just get out of the business altogether. Watching that main event Saturday night, I don't know how Daniel Jacobs didn't cum in his shorts numerous times from the amount his cack was being devoured by the 3 stooges ringside, all while looking nothing more than average against a well overmatched opponent
