Not the same. For one thing, Joshua didn't wait out Klitschko until he was past his prime. No marinating, no endless excuses to wait him out until he faded. Joshua also didn't get a gift the way Floyd did against Oscar, he got a KO victory. Wlad still had more in the tank than Floyd's opponents. Wlad didn't have a torn shoulder and Joshua didn't have sketchy refs and judges in his pocket.

I agree 100% with you. There is a double standard when it comes to African American elite fighters. The bias is sickening!

Floyd was a Fraud, ducked, matchmaked at the right time, and used illegal and spoiling tactics to win boring snoozefest fights, as opposed to all those truly great African American fighters above.

I think you can make the comparisons as long as you realize that one guy was already great, already headed to the HOF even if he lost those fights, while the other guy was just beginning his reach for greatness.

That being said, I think the DLH win was a bigger win for Floyd than the Wlad win was for Joshua.

Mayweather was already a star by the time he fought Oscar; the win arguably made him the biggest thing in the sport. Joshua was a budding champion, just beginning to write his own story.

I think you can make the argument that Oscar and Wlad were about the same as far as what they had left.

I don't think Joshua has had his Mosley or Pac yet.

And I would say that both Mosley and Pac were more formidable opponents to Floyd than Wlad was to AJ.

Mosley had taken out a prime contender in Margarito his last fight; Pac had wins over Bradley and Algieri coming in. Wlad had lost to Fury, who's true ability is still open for debate. In addition, the fight before had been a lackluster UD over Jennings, which first began talk of his deterioration.

Floyd faced better, but Floyd was also more advanced in his career.

For now, you give Mayweather the edge.

But, Joshua has time to write his own legacy.
