    Jacobs new found arrogance

    I am a big jacobs fan...........
    But anyone who knows anything bout boxing knows he could have got arias out of there in the 10th,11th,12th maybe even earlier if he hunted the body more. Arias was gassed and ready for the taking and i thought jacobs was admiring his own work too much.

    The fight looked AWFUL On tv with jacobs slappy arm punches and arias clinching. just awful. i was really excited about jacobs first outing on hbo in a long time. the least he coulda done is stopped the guy. very unimpressing

    Agreed. He carried the dude out. He should have stopped him by the 10th.

      Sometimes i think that people in the boxing world are dumber than i thought. I mean from my couch i can see that Jacobs NEEDS TO finish this up in fashion for him to have any chance "wanting to be a star in america and worldwide" as he said in the lead up. And this dummy whos spent his whole life in boxing since he was a little boy carries this club fighter through the last few painfully frustrating dull rounds of a painfully frustrating fight. I will watch his next fight cause im a boxing head but i doubt if the casual will...

        Arias was in survival mode so it makes it much more difficult to KO someone who's just there to avoid getting hit for the most part. Jacobs was getting frustrated telling him to "stop running", "stand and fight", but Arias just kept it moving, trying to survive, which had the effect of a punch output amounting to possibly around 50% less than Jacobs!

                neither guy arias or jacobs really came to win. in the last 2 rounds when jacobs was certainly down in the fight(5-5 at best meaning he had to win the last 2 to get the win) jacobs did nothing until the last 5 seconds of the round where he landed a couple shots and probably only cause ggg was caught so off guard. that tells me he was fighting to survive and didnt open up earlier not because he couldnt but because he was scared of what could happen if he did. not a winner mentality. going backwards the entire fght while getting his head snapped back also didnt help much. he was content

                  3g = punches 231/615 - 38%
                  dj = 175/542 - 32%

                  3g's jab and that off balance kd won 3g the fight.

                  have a good day

                    Jacobs has always been a little arrogant. I was taken a back how confident he was going into the Quillen fight. I actually gave Quillen shot to beat him. The arrogance works in big fights but last night it didn't help him. He got very good advice from his coach between rounds but as soon as he thought he hurt Arias he would go full Wilder on him. You can tell he has a lot skills but his emotions got the best of him last night.

                    The HBO crew was just pathetic on th amount of praise they were heaping on him. If I had to guess I think they were doing that to boost Golovkin's win over him.
