It's called damage control.
Let's recap what happened, looking at this as if we are average fan (who are the folks that are going to make this fight successful).
Oct 28
AJ has a fight against a decent but unspectacular opponent.
He doesn't exactly struggle, but a bad stoppage occurs just when it seems Takam is coming on a bit.
Mr. Fan (and some hardcore folks as well) think Takam should have been given a shot to finish and noticed AJ starting to breath hard.
Postfight, AJ and Hearn tell us a fight with Wilder "has to happen" but are very vague about when, going so far as to mention 2 or 3 fights which might happen before Wilder.
Mr. Fan is like "Who is Wilder and why are they kinda swerving here?"
Nov. 4
Wilder is fighting a guy who definitely isn't as good as the guy AJ fought last week by the looks of it.
But, they say this guy is a former champ and there is bad blood between the two- good fight coming, right?
WRONG! Wilder obliterates the fool. Looks like he is CGI enhanced while doing so.
Then calls out Joshua, doing everything short of blasting out his cell phone digits as he rhymes his challenge.
Mr. Fan is like "So THAT's who Wilder is. I definitely have to see that fight!"
So now Mr. Fan is hearing the promoter of the first guy explain why his guy wont fight the other guy.
We hear Hearn talk about having to "overpay" Wilder, when the truth is a fight in the states will almost certainly have to be 50/50. And Hearn is still talking.
Mr. Fan knows what time it is.
