It was 3 and Wilder keeps the US revenue too. Which puts it over 4.
The initial offer back in June was 3. It's the current offer that is 4. The next offer will be 5. Haymon isn't ******. He knows the money the fight would generate and he knows Wilder will get 73% of the purse bid.
There are several factors you're not considering.
#1 - You keep comparing Hearn's offer to Wilder's publicly announced purse for the Stiverne fight, but Showtime didn't want the Stiverne fight, which is part of why Wilder's purse was lower. Also, smart fighters rarely file their true purse. You file a lower number to save money on commission taxes and sanctioning fees. So you really have no idea what Haymon is truly paying Wilder for his fights.
#2 - The devil is always in the details. You have no idea what the particulars of Hearn's offer are. It's easy to make an offer sound enticing to fans, who aren't privy to the nitty gritty, while including details that would make the offer very unattractive to the fighter.
#3 - Wilder has already shown he wants the biggest fights, even if they're not the biggest money. He was willing make less fighting Ortiz than to fight the easier Stiverne because he just truly wants to show he is the best and fighting Ortiz interested him more, even if paying off Stiverne was going to be very expensive.
