How does he get too much credit for Walters? People are constantly complaining because Walters was coming off an 11 month inactivity. Even though Walters was offered the fight earlier in the year and didn't take it. Walters' fault nobody else.

Crawford gets a lot of credit for beating a smaller Gamboa coming off a one year lay off. I barely see people bring that up. But when it comes to the Loma-Walters fight that is all they bring up.
And I don't hear anybody really bringing up Martinez as a great win, so I have no idea where you are getting that from.

    P4P lists are subjective.
We can break down each fighters resume right now and nobodies resume stands out over anybody else.

I'm curious, how many Jaws has Rigo broken?

nobody with as few fights as Loma who has a loss should be put atop the pound for pound list. Regardless of who is to blame, walters was inactive for nearly a year, and him being as big as he is, definitely didn't have an easy time making weight after that long of a layoff. Not sure how you don't think that there isn't much difference between what Crawford has accomplished and what Loma has accomplished when one fighter is 32-0 and unified a weight division while the other is 9-1?

People can put whoever they want as P4P. It's subjective. An imaginary list.

Maybe Walter should have taken the original offer. Has nobody but himself to blame. It's not like he was being low balled as that was his highest pay day.
Also, Walters had several months to cut weight. That's what he should have been doing while waiting, right? If he didn't then how is anybody else's fault? That would also be his fault would it not be?

Crawford won the 2014 fighter of the year with a win over an inactive smaller Gamboa, but people will complain if somebody tries to give Loma the 2017 FOTY.
Even though if he beats Rigo he will have a strong case, especially since the other two top contenders (Mikey Garcia and Berchelt) won't fight again this year, since he is the only top guy to fight three solid fighters this year. (Marriaga gave Valdez all kinds of problems and fought the first half pretty competitively against Walters. Valdez is top 5 at Featherweight, one of the most stacked divisions in boxing and Walters was rated by many as the top guy at 126 at the time. In many people's opinion Walters is of similar level to Loma, so Loma should get credit for beating Marriaga more impressively, right?)

It's quite something that a fighter with 10 fights already has a similar resume to Crawford. With a win over Rigo he will have an even better resume with 11 fights. Isn't that something?
It's awesome that Crawford unified, but who did he have to beat to unify? That is something else that has to be looked at. I respect him for unifying but I'm not going to pretend that he beat amazing fighters every time out.
I'm willing to bet that whoever unifies Cruiserweight, winner of the WBSS, won't get as much credit as Crawford did and their path will be much more difficult.
Cruiserweight is a much better division than Light-Welterweight.

You're right. Loma doesn't have 1-punch KO power.

Rigo isn't going to be there for 8 punch combinations.

I think people are sleeping on rigos power. Might be more of a factor here than most are thinking.

Loma is incredibly good but I feel like Rigo might have more tricks up his sleeve when it comes to facing a fellow southpaw.

Donaire was a hype job who capitalized on Pacquiao's success. He's a one trick pony - left hook. And when he faced opponents who could handle the left hook power or who could just neutralize it with movement - he looked amateurish. That being said - he floored Rigo and had him in big trouble with a left hook. Imagine what Loma will do to Rigo - and Loma will cut off the ring like no one Rigo has ever faced.

After Rigo gets dominated, I hope that roid-head cheating coward Salido gives Loma that rematch.

One punch KO power guys are the best match up for Rigo... he can just avoid their big punches. Loma's one-punch body shots are brutal - Loma better be ready to take shots downstairs...

A few thoughts. I know I wasn't the only one to notice that Lomachenko's face was starting to fall apart from half a fight against Marriaga. The two knots under his eyes weren't from the head clash. Rigondeaux is a very sharp puncher. He has sharp, crisp, power. Not necessarily bludgeoning like a Golovkin, but Rigondeaux's fists are known to damage facial bones and tissues. If Lomachenko was welting up like that when Marriaga barely hit him, what is gonna happen to his face when Rigondeaux is landing with those hard, sharp shots? How will Lomachenko handle that type of adversity. A 130 pound Rigondeaux is going to hit a bit harder than he did at 122 as well.

                      fairy tales innit.

name any elite boxer in the last decade that gets up as fast as Rigo IN ANY KNOCKDOWN situation and has A GAME poker face as if he wasn't hurt.

Rigo wasn't expecting that left hook from Donaire, again, protect yourself at all times, but most heads that get caught from a sucker punch from a notorious hitter who's hook is a trademark would most likely be very stunned or KO'd..

Rigo has proven to have an iron chin. The Japanese Amagasa kat was like 25lbs rehydrated which will be no different in total mass come the Loma bout, as we all saw and see, Rigo was playing around in defense against the Japanese he won't be doing that against Loma, or even better, if he does and his defense is performance of the decade against Loma... dude's automatically #1 p4p for the longest
