I keep seeing you guys bring up the rematch clause. It only applies to canelo and not ggg, meaning that gbp and canelo will only exercise the rematch clause in the event that it would bring them more money. If it’s more convenient money wise to not go that route, then they can squash the clause and start from scratch on negotiations. Waiting on Lemieux and Saunders is just a way to be able to force ggg and his team to take less money that’s all...

All fighter's fan bases do this bs. Just like GGG fans say he doesn't need to fight his mandatory challenger, Charlo. Just like AJ fan base says Wilder needs to get a bigger following before thrt fight Just like Charlos fan base neglect Lara because he's boring, ignoring his skill. Porter fan base has no problem with him begging for Garcia but not calling out champ Spence. Loma fans happy with him making Rigo move up two full divisions. I could do this all day. Boxing fans are weak. They love a fighter because he's great, but are fine with him avoiding his biggest challenges to prove it.Comment

That's true but I would call that bluff. Lemieux would be back to Liam Smith ppv numbers, and I say that even though I think it would be a good fight.I keep seeing you guys bring up the rematch clause. If Golovkin doesn't want to take less, and he shouldn't, Canelo will look like the guy who's ducking, because he could exercise his rematch clause (for a purse split already in his favor) and make the fight tomorrow.Comment

It's a lock that if Lemieux wins, it'll Canelo-Lemieux next and then they will continue to wait for GGG to continue to decline, lose or retire, and then say GGG retired to avoid the Canelo rematch.
I hate to do this - but now I have to root for Saunders to win.Comment

Liam Smith never fought on US soil or on US TV before Canelo a complete unknown 0 draw and STILL this fight drew DOUBLE the PPVs of either of the 2 PPV flops GGG has been apart of outside of fighting Canelo. Smith never on HBO, Showtime or any US network. Comparing him to Lemieux is just ******. Lemieux has headlined numerous HBO cards, headlined a PPV card and is a huge draw in canada. Canelo/Lemieux will sell just like Canelo/Chavez sold, just like Canelo/Cotto sold, just like Canelo/Khan sold ect. Every Canelo fight is going to sell. Canelo is the biggest draw in boxing outside of Floyd who is retired every fight he's on is PPV even fighting a nobody like Smith did bigger numbers then GGG fighting Lemieux and Jacobs. When will you fools get it through your head that Canelo is the clear A side and financially does not need GGG. Where as GGG in his 2 biggest fights outside of Canelo sold 97-160K (depending on what source you believe). Canelo literally sold 1M PPVs just this year alone in a fight that had nothing to do with GGG and made over 20M to do so. GGG fought Jacobs this year for only 2M.That's true but I would call that bluff. Lemieux would be back to Liam Smith ppv numbers, and I say that even though I think it would be a good fight.

If he don't fight Canelo on his terms he is forced to fight anyone of his Mandatories that are lesser draws then Jacobs and it's a HBO fight not on PPV and he making peanuts. He will take a lesser percent from Canelo but make minimum 5X more money then taking the A side money to fight Charlo or his other mandatories. And the way GGG has looked lately none are guaranteed easy fights if he loses to any of them that Canelo payday is gone. Those are all high risk low reward fights. He'd be ****** to price himself out a rematch.Comment
