Comments Thread For: De La Hoya on Canelo's Options: Golovkin, Lemieux, Saunders

Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya admits that Saul "Canelo" Alvarez has several potential options for his next ring return, which is slated to take place on May 5th of 2018. Canelo was last seen back in September, during Mexican Independence Day weekend, when he fought to a twelve round split raw with IBF, IBO, WBA, WBC middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs) at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Who are you kidding Oscar? We all know GGG isn't the frontrunner. It'll be whoever is holding the WBO

K2 needs to have a Plan B! Danny Jacobs make the most sense, but he's not a champion, so he won't fulfill the mandatories. Derevyanchenko would be a good fight for GGG in NYC or Kazakhstan (if he's still trying to have a fight at home). Charlo would be an excellent fight for anywhere in Texas!

Well, I hope GGG tells Oscar and Canelo to 'go whistle'.

Truth is no-one will bring in as much money as GGG. And since it doesn't look like GGG can KO Canelo, I am sure Oscar will roll the dice once more.

So all of this nonsense about other options is just a cheap way to get some leverage in negotiations. So what if Oscar messes up millions of fans in the process. Who cares about us...

Thank God Tom Loeffler is a decent guy who doesn't use cheap tricks like this....
