Lets see if Parker has more heart than Wilder if Povetkin gets through this.

Ok, so how many times does PEDvetkin have to test positive before he gets a life ban?
Or will it take another Luis Resto v Collins situation to occur again before they throw this guy out?
Believe me, a clean Povetkin is what I prefer to see: he has the potential to give us some great fights but how low does the sport have to drop it's shorts before it gets crap on them?

I don't understand this nonsense about Meldonium. Why not just allow all the other fighters to also consume Meldonium and just let the bouts take place instead of hiding around the idea that certain athletes are consuming artificial chemicals that enhances them whilst others are somehow 100% clean and natural in the 21st century?
The fights between top boxers can take place. It's just a matter of the media coming up with avoidable excuses as to why the bouts aren't happening and deceiving others by doing so. It's mainly diversion tactics. if everyone believes that Alexander Povetkin is a cheater and he juices, then their attention can be diverted to the bigger fight between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder since their fight would be bigger in the west. The likes of Alexander Povetkin and Luis Ortiz would most likely thwart that big fight from happening because they are the most skilled heavyweights right now. Hence, they need to come up with those excuses as to why Povetkin or Ortiz can't fight those guys.

Parker would be crazy to take the Povetkin fight in Yekaterinberg in Russia in 2018. Even if he happened to win he'd "test positive" soon after. Fight in NZ Joe.

PED use is systemic and has been for years
When I fought as an amateur boxer PED use was the norm. I did not engage myself (though I wanted to) simply because my trainer stridently discouraged it.
So the problem begins very early on and is accepted, though not openly.
Although the boxing fraternity is trying in earnest in catch up and be consistent, and prudent, the problem is the fracturing of the sport allows a fighter to simply take his cash to another sanctioning body; with whom he can claim his innocence and pay fees to be ranked.
What is most shocking to me is the number of former and current first ballot HOF's who have tested positive and received a slap on the wrist. Names like James Toney, Shane Mosley, and a total of SIXTY FIVE pages of information on fighters who have:
1.Been suspended by a sporting body (an international governing body, a national federation, or a professional league) for illegal performance-enhancing drug, and/or banned drug, use
2.Publicly admitted such use
3.Been found to have taken illegal performance-enhancing drugs by a court of law
4.Been suspended by a sporting body for failure to submit to mandatory drug testing.

Granted this source is Wikipedia, which is not peer-reviewed; up to the highest academic standards; Or a citable source within a professional/ technical/ specialised context.
However, it is enough evidence in my eyes to produce a 'smoking gun', and is shocking enough that ALL sanctioning bodies should unite to ban cheats for life after a second positive test for PED's. I don't agree that penalties should apply for recreational drug use.
