So you think a fighter needs a good amount of time at a new weight in order to be effective there or is it more a burden of proof? I mean, it's logical to think a guy who's proven that he could smash J-Rock at 154 could do some damage at 160. Or do you think he just has to prove more before fighting one of the top guys in the division and probably the top guy there? If so, I understand that. Maybe he should do more to earn it.

It wasn't nothing good about that fight GGG was letting up on him yet still won 9 clear rounds..... With GGG sudden growth spurt the size difference is too much, GGG towered over canelo and looked a solid 180, I rather see GGG fight a true mw

I think he should fight someone with a pulse, that would tell me if he is a real threat or not. Its not just about needing a good time at the weight, I think he is a 160 fighter naturally. He just hasnt done anything so far in his career that makes me think he is already one of the top guys at 160

People were over-hyping Williams, not sure why. If he were to fight any of the following Jacobs, Saunders, or Lemuiex or Murata and beats them well then I would sit up and take notice.

Golovkin vs Charlo might be entertaining and personally I would like to see it. In all likelihood it will be the money grab rematch with Canelo first followed by a fight with Saunders to unify. That is of course if Saunders gets past Lemieux and actually agrees to a fight with Golovkin.

So I guess you a problem with Crawford being named Horn's mandatory next when he hasn't done anything at 147? Charlo was given his ranking because he moved up and vacated his title, not his fault that Heiland was ranked #1 by the WBC at that time.

Honestly, I would rather see GGG vs Charlo too, but just because I don't think the GGG vs Canelo rematch will be a drastically different fight than the first one. However, the rematch has to happen, so that's what we'll probably get next. It's a shame that we have to wait until May before seeing them fight again though.

they fought many times in the interim, made a lot of money, got a lot of publicity because of the prospect of fighting each other. might not have delivered a fight in golovkin's prime and alvarez' prime, but it made the parties involved money, and that's th eonly thing they care about.

the best example of a fight being pushed off for years and ifghters' benefitting monetarily was mayweather - pacquiao. they made a ton of money fighting relative cans and nobodies and their fights were promoted on major TV and news outlets indirectly through publicity for the prospect of them fighting each other. both guys fought out their primes against other guys, on PPV, for a ton of money. then they cashed out, and the fight generated half a billion in revenue. that might not have been what you wanted to see, and it wasn't what i wanted to see, either, but it worked for them and made them a ton of money in the interim, and built the fight hwen it finally happened.

believe me, promotors are not dumb. most of them come from a legal or a financial background, and know how to plan strategies to protect assets and max profits over several years, something you'll never do if you just match fighters to please fans.

What sudden growth spurt? He looks the same to me.

I'd like to see any of those fights. Here's to an exciting(hopefully) 2018.
