Do you think Anthony Joshua is overrated and over-hyped?

Couldn't have put it better myself.

Too much too soon. It'll be a national catastrophe in the UK when he loses. I don't think he even likes all the adulation now.

I been saying for centuries that fury and wilder would make "EZ" work of AJ. Never got the AJ hype he is/was a bodybuilder with brawling boxing skills. Nothing special about him. If he was the 6 foot he would be nothing.

I think you just fall into the category of over hyping those two. Still waiting for Wilder to step into the ring and prove how good he is against a top contender. Gutted Ortiz was a cheating **** as that would have been a great fight for Wilder.

I think AJ and Wilder are at the same level but each with different weaknesses.

There's an argument for you to say Wilder is overrated but to say Tyson Fury is overrated is kind of silly. He shown he is a naturally pure boxer. Inside/Mid Range/Outside this guy doesn't care. Tyson Fury shown he's on another level. He would trash that so called 70's HW thread. Too big, Too Slick, Too White. Prime Tyson Fury would have been the future.

If anything AJ was the one overhyped. All those threads saying he would beat the likes of Mike Tyson/Lewis/Clay/Holmes/Toney.

He's not close to an elite fighter but he's still a pretty good heavyweight. He could be the best heavyweight today but the standard isn't that high and none of them are anything close to being an elite boxer. I felt Fury was a level above them in terms of boxing ability and ring IQ but he's out of the picture.

It's not like he looks unbeatable if he's matched up with another top 5 or top 10 heavyweight. Even though he's 20-0 with 20 KO and looks dominant for the most part, i still don't get that "is there a guy out there that can beat him?" thought like you get with some other top undefeated dominant fighters, because i fully expect him to lose in the near future if he has decent opponents.

All in all, i think he's just a good fighter that has reached incredible fame and adulation from the public through good marketing, image and targeting casual fans who know nothing about boxing. Fair play to him, make that money while they can.

IMO hes vulreable to the body and his chin is questionable, he got knocked out by David Price and Dubious in sparring with headgears FFS
He also lacks stamina and gasses everytime he throws a combination, add to that hes robotic and clunky.
Lewis was almost as big as AJ but he wasnt robotic and stiff like AJ

He's overhyped and maybe a little overrated. However, I think he's great for the HW division. After 10+ years of Wladimir Klitschko the division could use a champion with a little personality. Wilder has a lot of personality but it seemed forced, like he's trying too hard. Fury came off as a complete loon. I think Joshua is better than some people are giving him credit but I saw a lot of room for improvement on Saturday.

AJ is so dull he makes Vlad look interesting.

He's even more robotic than the Klit bros.

Over-hyped by Sky Sports and overrated by casuals.
