If AJ had bodywork like Dillian Whyte or actually uses his size to clinch and fatigue Dre, then Dre would 0 chance of winning; but since AJ doesn't really do those things nor cut the ring off well I think a fighter with quick footwork and ring IQ can outbox him. I'll give Dre a 30% shot at winning.Comment

After Saturday it's entirely possible. Joshua has terrible stamina and Andre's is top notch. This will be easy to exploit for him.I know its easy to say really as it'll never happen but if it did...
**** Boxingscene I think Andre Ward would have a legitimate shot at beating Joshua.
There I said it, thanks just had to get it off my chest.
Part of me thinks his 'retirement' is to bulk up and prepare for the unthinkable as well.Comment

Idk that Ward has the speed (with the weight he'd need to gain) to keep good distance from Joshua or the high level defensive capabilities if things got tight a time or two or hell if that even matters cuz I think Joshua's blocked punches would take a toll on Ward that could add up over time even if Ward had Floyd level D on fight night. Mainly doe I think any non-HW trying to beat a HW is gonna need to have speed in spades. Not saying Ward is slow or anything, but he's not THAT fast I don't feel like either when we throw another 20ish pounds on him to fight HW.
I think it'd be a pretty longshot for Ward to win. Under 10% for sure.
If I was trying to come up with the best non-HW to overcome Joshua's size advantage I think I'd look more towards Usyk. He's a pretty crafty guy & isn't as small as Ward so the added weight he'd need to gain likely wouldn't slow him down & it might actually strengthen him a lil bit. His ring IQ is much higher than Joshua's so I think he could outbox Joshua over 12 + he's got some solid power himself that could get Joshua's attention in the late rounds if he were to get Joshua tired.Comment

You're prediction isn't crazy whatsoever. Throughout history, certain boxers had done what most people thought was impossible(Ali beating Liston and Foreman), Pacquiao beating De La Hoya, etc.
Ward definitely has the skills and tools to potential beat Joshua BUT the weight and reach advantage Joshua has would be extremely hard to overcome. Now if Ward settles into heavyweight for a while and has about 4-5 good wins against good opposition, it would be possible but extremely gruelingComment

Ward S.O.G. Rebranding his logo for the return!?
Saw it on twitter...
What if Ward waits for all the opportunities in one bout at HW!?

I thought Joshua did about as well as expected against Takam. I don't think he was ever in danger of losing the fight. I can see Ward having success where Takam didn't. At the same time people are looking at Takam as the smaller fighter because he's shorter but his arms and back was about the same size as Joshua's. I don't know what weight Ward would need to be to be more durable against Joshua. Also, if Joshua is able to keep pumping his jab for more than 4 or 5 rounds it would be difficult for Ward to get inside his reach. Ward can do it but don't let the Takam fight confuse you into thinking it would be easy. Takam and Ward are two different fighters stylistically.Comment

People are way overestimating Ward's chances. It's like you said, Takam may be much shorter than Joshua but he wasn't very far off in terms of weight...and Takam was extremely solid muscle, not fat. Takam was 235 lbs.., not a small heavyweight. Ward is an inch shorter than Takam and smaller boned. Ward is a grinder, who fights much smaller guy, so he can get away with wrestling and slowing down the pace of the fight...but with a big, powerful, good fighter he wouldn't be able to withstand the constant pressure and he's not going to be able to frustrate his opponent by grappling with them in the clinch....and his stamina will be tested much more when a big fighter is constantly walking him down all night.I thought Joshua did about as well as expected against Takam.
