Filip Hrgović is the best heavyweight prospect right now

    http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/813758

This guy should be getting a lot more hype. He just made his pro debut in September after having a great amateur career with a lot of difficult world series of boxing bouts so he has plenty of boxing experience already despite being only 25. He also sparred with Wilder, Haye, Klitschko... He busted up Haye and opened up a cut which forced him to cancel the Fury fight. Hrgović also boasts that he was "equal if not better" than Klitschko when they sparred earlier this year.

While he was a good amateur, I think his style is even better suited for the pro game and for 12 round fights since he has incredibly cardio for a man of his size, from what we saw he also appears very durable.

He's 6 foot 6, same size as Joshua. I think Hrgović vs Joshua would be a great fight down the line once Hrgović gets more pro experience.

In one of the interviews Hrgović said that he already has a lot of experience due to his amateur career and doesn't need too many tune ups and cans.

I agree, i think he will reign for a long time IF he can take a punch, it remains to be seen how good his chin is at this stage.

'he appears to be very durable' based on what?

Heavyweight prospects are quite healthy tbh. Quite promising what can happen there. Remain to be seen though

I watched his fights in WSB, he had some real wars in there with heavy hitters and he never appeared to be rocked. Remember, those are 5 round fights very similar to pro fights.

Look at Hrgović's WSB fight against the MMA legend and experienced Russian amateur boxer Kharitonov who was known for his KO power:

That was a very green 18 year old Hrgović and he took some real BOMBS here and wasn't even bothered at all, went on to win on points.

Based on this performance alone I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out he has an ATG-level iron chin. All the signs are there. His skin didn't cut either and he took a lot of body shots as well. Remember, that was a "frail" teenage Hrgović (compared to what he is now) against an MMA and boxing KO power veteran in his prime, he's even more durable now.

Guys like Wilder and Joshua were finished in the amateurs. I don't think they would be able to take those Kharitonov shots when they were at that stage of their careers. If Hrgović was chinny he would be knocked down at least once in some of his wars.

Also, you don't believe in the Croatian iron chin? George Chuvalo (Croatian ancestry), Željko Mavrović (survived everything that the much larger Lewis was throwing at him).... Two of the best chins in boxing ever.

You cant make that judgement based on the AM's and WSB its not the same.
You can talk about Wilder and Joshua all you want, David Price and Audley Harrison were highly successful amateurs, look what happened to them...

I'm glad that we're finally getting some decent super-heavyweight prospects, guys that are the size of Joshua or even bigger. It's going to be a division full of giants in 10 years.

We're talking about chin and durability here. AMs and WSB do give some indication about a fighter's chin.

Price was knocked out in the amateurs. Amir Khan... same thing. All of those notoriously chinny guys in boxing were finished in the amateurs at some point if they stayed around long enough. If a guy has a weak chin this weakness is going to be found out at the amateur level if he gets hit a lot there. Of course, he can still be heralded as a great prospect if he has other skills, but amateur careers do give some indication about how good the fighter's chin is. On the other hand Golovkin was never dropped and it was reasonable to suspect he has an iron chin even before he enters the pros. Of course, a durable iron chinned amateur can turn out to be crap too when it comes to skills, but we were talking about durability here specifically.

If Hrgović had a bad chin he would NOT be able to last 5 rounds with Kharitonov landing those clean bombs at him and he would be rocked more, especially considering that he's a heavyweight.

This is what happened to Joshua for example:

Daniel Dubois is not only the Best Heavyweight Prospect but also one of the most talked about Heavyweights in the World and this is only after 5 Pro Fights.

People are already making REACTION VIDEOS about his Knockouts and he's getting over 100,000 views on some of his videos on Youtube.
