I've always been more of a Wilder hater than fan. Felt he was an overhyped bum with a China chin that would get ko'd when he stepped up. Even said I wouldn't be surprised if Stiverne ko'd him in the first round when they fought. But he did sign on to fight Povetkin and Ortiz and they blew that. Can't blame the guy for going after AJ. And let's be honest, the division isn't great. Is there anyone who brings more prestige or money than Wilder? That's not a praise of Wilder, but more a statement about the depth of the division.

Also for better or worse, Wilder looks like he's trying to do right by the sport with drug testing and seeing others get popped. AJ has been accused of juicing and his reluctance to fight Wilder makes non fanboys wonder if maybe he is juicing and has something to hide.
