I just watched it. Povetkin really laid Takam out cold.

A few thoughts from the fight:

- Takam's chin is world class. He was tough as nails.
- There were questions about Joshua's conditioning going into this fight, and those questions have been validated. Joshua was gassing, and was unable to avoid combination shots from a guy who doesn't have a lot of hand speed.
- When Joshua is fresh, he looks incredible. His jab was really good.
- Joshua hasn't quite figured out how to close fights effectively - he gets wild and frustrated too easily.
- That was an AWFUL stoppage. Terrible timing. It certainly looks suss - Takam was well down on the cards, but had shown some life in the last couple of rounds - he was on the up, and Joshua was visibly tiring. The stoppage was random and out of the blue - really, really bad refereeing.

Joshua deserves to remain the #1 guy in the division right now. But where there were question marks, there is steady evidence to back them up.

He is athletic for his size, not athletic in the fast twitch basketball player sense, or in distance runner endurance sense.

He is more of a power athlete and strength who has good hand eye coordination. Being athletic covers a broad range of athletic talent, when I look at Joshua next to most heavyweight boxers I think athlete. However, I would say he is not the ideal athlete for boxing, but that doesn't change that Joshua does have athleticism
