That referee was suspect. He did some su****ious things during that fight

When AJ would need a breather the fight would get stopped

The first time was in the 5th. AJ was coming on but he was also swinging and missing big. Watch right before the ref stops to check on Takam's cut, AJ takes a deep breath. The ref also wasn't on the same side as the cut and the cut wasn't bad enough that it should've been looked at. (if I find an HD video i'll edit this because you can't really see it that well on this video)

The second one was after Takam's best round (the 7th) the ref stops the fight again. This time to have AJ's gloves taped. Look at his glove. There was barely any tape loose.

The 8th was another good round by Takam. At the beginning of the 9th round the ref stops the fight to once again have Takam's eye looked at. So he didn't call the doc to look at it during the break in the round. No. He waited until the beginning of the round to have the doc look at it. After it's already been worked on by his corner Usually the doc will look at the eye in between rounds while the corner is working on it. And the doc grabs his eye and wipes vaseline off of it after his corner has done that work to keep it from bleeding

Hahaha! Man you're really reaching here.

1.) In a sequence were AJ is a lot more active and lands more than Takam (this was the case throughout), the ref calls a halt. I repeat, AJ was landing more on Takam and the ref called a break. How is he saving AJ there?

2.) There was nothing going on here. The ref waited until there was a lul in the action, which there clearly was here. Both boxers were circling and feintings and not engaging when the ref called time out?

3.) Hahaha! Man come on. Look how slow Takam is to get up off his stool. Every round after the sixth he struggled to his feet and his corner were trying to buy him extra time. And you're saying AJ was the one gassed?

You forgot to mention what happened in the 4th round, when Takam suddenly stopped fighting without a break being called and asked the ref himself to take a look at his cut eye.

          1) AJ was was swinging and missing and took a deep breath right there before the ref stopped the action to look at a cut that didn't need to be looked at. If it was in HD you'd see it better

          2) Per the rules that's allowable. But there was barely any tape showing and that was again after AJ is tiring.

          3) BS. You know the ref is supposed to have the doctor look at the eye in between rounds or during the rounds. You don't stop the action right before the rd starts to have a doc look at the eye that has already been worked on in the corner. And the doctor is not supposed to grab at that eye like that and wipe away the vaseline. That's why you look at it in between rounds not at the beginning after the corner has worked on it.

Takam suddenly stopped fighting and turned away from AJ dabbing at his eye. The ref could have legit stopped the fight and raised AJ's hand right there if he'd wanted to. But instead he called a break, checked Takam out and asked him if he wanted to carry on.

I didn't see the ref asking the doc to check Takam's eye then. Maybe I missed it, but I thought the doc had made that call himself, which he is entitled to do.

That referee was a valuable member of AJ's team.
