A couple points. I think the GGG fans that are like that are like Abel Sanchez and should just shut the f up and stick to their actual jobs. There is a difference between being a fan and being a homer. A fan defends their favorite fighter while allowing for legitimate criticism. I admit I am not always the best at holding myself to that standard but I try to be.

Secondly, I think part of that homerism has evolved as a direct response to the exaggerated haters on this site. Let me give you an example from the biggest GGG hater on the site about***intime. The recent kerfuffle between me and him that resulting in him making that racist assumption in my sig revolved around his assertions that GGG ducked Sergio Mora. Now, he didn't think Mora really stood a chance and said as much. For him, it was more about the process. Because Mora was known to the 5 people in the world who remember that Sylvester Stallone once had a boxing reality show and once had a championship belt for 5 minutes about***intime feels it was more appropriate that GGG fight him rather than pursue a more lucrative fight against another no-hoper in Europe. Once again, he didn't think Mora actually stood a chance but was more upset about GGG not following what he believed was the traditional process. Nor did he nor anyone actually think that replacing that Adama guy with Sergio Mora in GGG's resume made a real difference. If GGG doesn't make it into the Hall of Fame it isn't because he chose Adama over Mora. Moreover, when presented with evidence of Sergio Mora himself admitting that had previously turned down a fight with GGG when he was an unknown and only pushed for the fight when Golovkin became an "HBO darling" (Mora's own words) that ****** doesn't even bat an eyelash and continue screaming that GGG ducked Mora.

When you have to deal with ******s like that in every GGG topic you get a little reactionary. In any case, here is something you have to acknowledge yourselves. Not even the biggest GGG buttboy was happy with the Dominic Wade fight. We knew he didn't really deserve the shot. We just had to live with it. Charlo deserves the fight more than Wade did because of what he did at 154 but as a middleweight he has done nothing. There is nothing wrong with acknowledging Charlo has done nothing at 160 because its factually correct.

i think alot of the "exaggerated haters" of golovkin happen to be a direct response to the exaggerated haters of floyd and ward...and several other fighters

a guy like pac, who should be universally loved gained many haters....not on his own merit....but his promoter and his advisor...his trainer and mostly overzealous fans pointing a finger at floyd all of the time for everything......

guys like loma and kova arent receiving the type of hate golovkin gets.....its part on his own merit and part his fans

I can understand why people with limited intelligence make links between Kovalev and Golovkin .. but AJ ...

Re Wade and Charlo ... Wade was GGG's mando with the IBF, and the IBF ordered GGG to fight him or lose his title.

Charlo is GGG's mando with the WBC, and the WBC have ordered GGG to rematch Canelo before he defends against Charlo.

Can you see the difference between those 2 situations?
