Kalumbay was very under-rated. The time he beat McCallum he was on a streak. No shame there losing to him

If I remember correctly Hearns had sparred against McCallum and baptized him with that name. He also said that he would never fight him

He had it all but the legs. I am always shocked that he was not more popular

My memory of him is as a soft light heavyweight in that farce against Jones.

Looking over his career years later and watching his fights for the first time, from light middle and even at middle, he was a very good fighter. Not great but very good. A tad robotic with none of the flash that his contemporaries had but he was efficient.

Anyone notice he looked like a bloated Jack Johnson in the Jones fight?
