I understand your argument, Yamanaka was regarded as the top 118 and theres an argument that neither Burnett or Zhakiyanov were very strong champions, but the fact is that Burnett now is the WBA super and IBF champion the argument that yamanaka or maybe Tete should be number 1 in front of Burnett now is really irrelevent until they fight.... All I am saying is he has as much a claim to the number 1 spot as anyone

Kind of depends on Nery and his PEDs problem. If he comes back at 118 I think he beats anyone. Besides him Yamanaka is still at the top IMO, then Tete, but it’s not a particular strong division and Burnett could eventually be the best, particularly if none of the big names at 115 move up anytime soon and he keeps fighting in the UKI understand your argument, Yamanaka was regarded as the top 118 and theres an argument that neither Burnett or Zhakiyanov were very strong champions, but the fact is that Burnett now is the WBA super and IBF champion the argument that yamanaka or maybe Tete should be number 1 in front of Burnett now is really irrelevent until they fight.... I've just caught up on this fight, very enjoyable. I've criticised him a lot in the past so I have to praise Howard Foster this time. A lot of modern refs would have been way more involved in the fight and would completely ruin the momentum with constant breaks. Burnett showed great endurance and looked surprisingly at home in the pocket, but he admitted in the post-fight interview that the gameplan had been to outbox ZZ on the outside, and it was his poor footwork and absent jab that made that impossible for him. Whenever he tried to get moving, he always ended up with his back to the ropes within a matter of seconds. Definitely needs to work on thatComment
