Marciano fought blown up Light Heavyweights and shot fighters. He is one if my favorite fighters to watch, but he was also overrated. Would have lost to most of the great Heavies of the 60's and 70's. He doesn't come close to the talent of Floyd Mayweather.

Exactly. It's a crutch. Guaranteed he blames his low job/pay status and domestic violence fines on The White Man as well.

Car breaks down, it was the White Man.

Fired from your job for getting drunk and high on weed during lunch break, it was the White Man.

Arrested for shoplifting, it was the White Man.

Evicted from your apartment for being 4 months behind in rent, it was the White Man.

Need a loan from the white man bank to buy a car?

Hello sir nice to meet you!

Heavyweights will always be superior. The same reason why I have Wladimir Klitschko above Floyd Mayweather as the better boxer of his generation.

It's easy to look skilled and technical when you only have 150 lbs and you're fighting other little people with no power. Even with his defensive skills, Floyd took a lot of hits that would shut his lights out if he was at heavyweight.

Heavyweights are the best boxers on the planet. Marciano was a bigger legend of the boxing game than any non-heavyweight.

Marciano WAS a blown up light Heavyweight. He weighed something like 186 when he CRUSHED the all time-great Joe Louis who was about 225.

This is overlooking the fact that Floyd clearly lost 4 fights and struggled with a guy who never even had an amateur fight.

If there was a basketball league only for people who are 5'10'' and smaller, would anyone seriously consider their best player to be on the level of Michael Jordan? Only in boxing you have people who think little boxers like Floyd Mayweather deserve to be ahead of heavyweight greats in the ATG rankings.

Marciano was actually a small heavyweight even in his age and yet he decided to box the bigger guys because he was a true fighter not hiding behind the weightcutting.

I agree with everything except the Klitschko part and the knockout part. Floyd has one of the best chins in boxing history. His chin would be even greater if he was a Heavyweight. Heavyweights are superior but welterweights aren't anything to sneeze at.
