He wants to peak against Lara. Like he said, he already had one training camp for a southpaw in Trout, and his mandatory is a Southpaw too, so when he faces Lara he will have had three consecutive camps preparing for southpaws. He believes he'll peak for that fight and he'll have figured out all sorts of ways to deal with tricky southpaws by then.

Hurd has long arms and a good right hand. He will get to Lara in spots. Lara will be forced to run like he usually does

Very interesting point here. But this timeline would suggest Charlo fights Lara first. Don't think Lara comes out of that one victorious.

          That's actually pretty smart.

Anybody know who Jermell, Lara and Hurd have for mandatories?

He won't make it past Lara who will box in circles around him in another snoozer.

Wait, did Hurd does say it'd be a "mega fight" between him and charlo?? Dude is seriously overestimate his worth and the impact of a win over a trout.

get the mandatory and then charlo, that could be a good fight, leave lara rotting alone, fighting nobodies, boring people to sleep and running his mouth

                  Jermell is the goods.
Hurd is slowly but surely making a name for himself. He just needs to tighten that defense to be a real threat to the Laras or Andrades. Until then he needs to steer clear of them if he wants to hold on to his belt!!

I think he earned the right to a soft touch. Austin Trout and Tony Harrison this year, that is a Solid year of work! IBF will order him to fight Cedric Vitu anyway. WBA will probably order Lara to fight Brian Carlos Castano as well as his mandatory. So a unification bout at 154 might be awhile!

The division seems to be stepping up of late. The higher ranked guys facing/looking to face each other.

                      Long may it continue.
Lara still a tough fight for them all though.
