Vitali is best remembered for losing to Lewis.
Hatton should be ahead of him. Hatton might also be best remembered for losing to Manny and Floyd but he beat better opposition than Vitali did.
Wlad is a 100% HOF fighter, Vitali isn't. The idea of Vitali is better than the reality. He has a p1ss poor resume. He's a quitter too. Fair enough his eye was bad v Lewis, but he quit on his stool v Byrd. Plenty of people have fought on with that injury. Haye's leg injury was far worse than Vitali's shoulder but he would have fought on all night if he had to. Vitali was more than happy to be pulled out of 2 fights.Last edited by TheBigLug; 10-16-2017, 02:46 PM.Comment

That's the thing, Vitali gets a lot of credit because people group him and his brother together.
If you judge them on individual merits, then Wlad is a genuine HOF fighter with a solid resume. Vitali isn't.Comment

winky is the better fighter by a good margin but hatton is more famous by a good margin. Gatti is in the HOF so hatton will probably get in eventually and maybe in place of wright.Comment

IBHOF makes no sense whatsoever. The "judges" have no actual criteria other than "was he famous?" And "how famous was he?"
That's it.
That's why Gatti, McGuigan, and *possibly* Hatton get in.Comment

Its going to be Morales, Vitali and Hatton.
Morales is the only sure fire, but the case for Klitschko and Hatton ovet Calderon and Winky, is that Winky was never the best in his era at any point and suffered a bunch of losses. While his era may be tougher than Klitschkos, the fact that you cant talk about the HW history without mentioning him proves my point. Winky never had that impact. Also Vitalis post boxing career will also give him the edge.
As with Hatton, he was one of the most popular fighters ever and was the lineal champ at one point.
Calderon unfortunately fought in a division no one cares about and also didnt have the same type of impact.Comment

The standards for the hall of fame are so low that they'll all get in, whether this year or the next year. Morales is the only one who would be guaranteed a spot in a legit hall of fame, and Winky would have a legitimate argument as well but merely being good, respectable fighters (as is the cases with Hatton and Vitali) shouldn't be enough.Comment

and got robbed against a prime VargasFor me:
-Sure-fire, first-ballot - Morales
-Not definitively first-ballot, but should get in if there's room first or second year - Vitali for his dominance and the manner in which he beat guys up, not necessarily available opposition
-Likely deserves, but in time (couple years) - Calderon because of his ability and dominance before downfall with Segura and Wright because he was undisputed, beat a decent Mosley, embarrassed a less than prime Trinidad, was close vs Taylor, and was at one point "the man" at 154.
-Questionable - Hatton because he has one "great" win, but two big losses despite his overseas reignComment
