This is what happens when you don’t have a promoter guiding your career. You fight a guy you have no business getting in the ring with and you get knocked the f out.

So you are advocating mismatches and protecting fighters. **** that, throw 'em to the wolves. Only the strongest survive.Comment

so one one hand ya'll slam fighters for not fighting threats..then on the other you slam them for daring to be great?Comment

You need expierence. Everyone can't come in and dominate from the start.
A 22 year old Charlo was not fighting for a championship he was the opening bout on Showtime Extreme.Comment

Wilfred Benitez was a 3 time champ by 22, mike Tyson was p4p #1 in the world at 20. Lubin stepped up like more boxers should he wanted better competition and he got it.Comment

This is no worse than Top Rank prospects feasting on bums and journeymen for 30 fights and then getting a shot at a vacant WBO belt against yet another overmatched foe.
The Charlo bros were too big of a step up for Lubin and J-Rock but even with a few more fights under their belt, nothing guarantees than the outcome of these fights would have been any different.
Promoters usually make sure to find the division's weakest beltholder for their prospects's first title shot. Observe how Giberto Ramirez and Oscar Valdez became champions. Ishe Smith, Bundrage or Hatley would have made the cut for Lubin and J-Rock's first title shot. But instead they had the choice between a very experienced southpaw who is very hard to beat, talented physical specimens or wait two or three years until a champ vacates his belt.
Some Al Haymon prospects were at the right place at the right time and had a relatively easy road to the title (Charlo bros), others didn't have that luxury. They took a risk, they failed, back to the drawing board.Comment
