Canelo said since before the May-Pac fight that when Floyd retired he would be fighting on those dates every year. Don’t know why people are acting like this has ANYTHING to do with GGG.

Canelo doesn't need GGG. He could fight Charlo, Jacobs, BJS and probably a few others and still make $10 million plus.

Definitely a GGG fan, but let's stay in reality lol
GGG vs Lemieux and Jacobs combined did 320, Canelo vs Smith did 260/270, so not twice as much.

Golovkin came out of the Canelo fight with more fans than he had going in though, so the gap between them is a lot narrower than the GGG hate goons are trying to portray.

And those are just the US numbers, remember. Outside the States I would say more people watch GGG's fights than Canelo's.

But everybody knows that fighting twice a year on those weekends has become tradition in the sport. Just looking back on it, looks like its been that way since the late 90s (Chavez and Oscar both utilized the strategy, but not as intentional as Floyd as they had randoms thrown in), and was popularized (or explicitly described) by Floyd.

There's nothing wrong with Canelo waiting. It's smart, it allows him to make NBA level money, and extend his career. All this "it hurts boxing stuff" isnt based on any factual or statistical support. Its actually data in direct opposition to that statement.

I expect the fight to sell slightly less than the first but will still be really successful. Lets say 1.2 million buys. If Oscar was smart he'd get Mikey v. Linares on the undercard and that could drive buys up to maybe 1.5 million.

GGG wont have any issue with it. The way he was talking about that $20 million pre-fight, I got the impression he was just happy to be there getting that bag lol
Well said! And 100% right on extending his career and giving maximum amount of time to heal properly and train. You get it! I dont understand why the other can't??? Or won't.

I think Charlo vs. Canelo would be huge in Houston. Charlo is from Houston and Canelo has a LOT of FANS in Texas. And it wouldnt be between two quiet guys. Charlo is mean! And could bring out Canelo's mean side as well...

Honestly i kind of would rather see that fight??? Black vs. Brown ALWAYS bring out the best.

Charlo vs Canelo would Probably be easier than dealing with Loeffler and GGG.

Landing 50 shots the entire night, doesn't win you a fight.

When did Floyd have to worry about mandos? Lol.

Unification fights almost always supersede mandos, for all champions and all sanctioning orgs. The only time they don't is if a mando has already been ordered before the option to unify comes up.
