Superstar? no, not at all because Cotto isn't one himself. He was never a real superstar and certainly isn't at this stage of his career.

Right now, it would just be like when Canelo beat Mosley or something, maybe slightly better than that but essentially a top fighter that is on the way out and past their best. That would be the case if Spence beat him anyway. Spence would be expected to win at this point.

If Mikey beat him then he might get more credit due to the size difference.

Nobody outside of dedicated boxing fans would care much about either fight.

If ANYBODY beats Cotto right now It will greatly grow their brand. Same goes for Manny.

These are two of the last superstar fighters left.....

Beating Manny won't grow anyone's brand now. Jeff Horn is still a mere blip on the radar at 147. Having that belt is the only thing keeping him relevant. It didn't launch his status, especially since it was a gift win. Even if someone like Crawford or M. Garcia beat Manny next year, they have beaten a shell of a fighter.

Cotto is a solid win. But, he's fighting Sadam Ali for his final fight. Ali beating Cotto does help to elevate him some, but I doubt it will give him P4P top ten status.

No. Trout beat him and it didn’t really do much for his career.
