Comments Thread For: Alexander Ustinov vs. Manuel Charr in Play For November 25

Heavyweight contender Alexander Ustinov is scheduled to return to the ring on November 25 in Oberhausen (Germany). According to his promoter, Vladimir Hryunov, the Russian giant will fight for the vacant WBA "regular" world title against Manuel Charr. Initially, Shannon Briggs and Fres Oquendo where scheduled to face each other in June, for that vacant WBA title. The fight fell out after Briggs failed a pre-fight drug test and came up positive for a banned substance.

What a disgrace to the lineage and legacy of this once esteemed 'world-title' the WBA is trash! the WBC 'Silver' HW title holds higher standards than this in the fact that the WBC 'Silver' title has been consitently contested by top ten contenders ; the WBA in this instance is allowing Manuel Charr whos been recently shot ( in the streets ) brutally KO by WBC cruiserweight champion Mairis Briedis and is not even ranked on boxrec at the moment WOW!!! and I cant even go in on Alexander Ustinov -- its just too much!

Deontay 'Bronze-Bomber' Wilder is the savior of the division along with the WBC and Vada they are preserving the integrity of this dreadful shameless weight class.

Right now I'm thinking the next WBC 'Silver' champion is probably as good as Anthony Joshua and Joey Parker for real.

This is a joke! Two guys who can't even box fight for a title that once was held by legends like Muhammad Ali. What a disgrace!

The "regular " title isn't a title , it doesn't mean jack ****, so don't worry, it's just the wba #2 ranking effectively
Even then the ranking doesn't mean much, so really it's a just a marketing exercise and sanctioning grab for a worthless "title"

Two fighters going nowhere anyway, Ustinov is a big softie who is determinedly 2nd tier , Charr is a cut price Joseph Parker lol

This is false for a variety of reasons but namely today for the following: the WBA elevates/promotes their 'Regular' champions to THE 'Super-champions' in the event that Joshua vacates for whatever reason who do you think will be competing for their premier title? that's right the winner of this contest -- what a joke.

Yes so #1 contender basically like I said, it's a "title " for the next ranked after the wba champ

Of course there can only be one champ, at least only one per sanctioning body

I confess I don't really follow the ins and outs of their rules , really just interested in what goes on in the ring

As I said you dont necessarily have to even fight to become THE SUPERCHAMPION there have been instances where they just elevated the 'regular' champion to full 'Super champ' : this all depends on the committees agenda, basically the regular belt becomes the full title when it suits the WBA then it reverts to the lower tier title when they decide.

regular title, irregular title, i give a sht about that. fact is, ustinov is a monster and will destroy charr inside three rounds. and after he got this however called title he is challenger for aj and that is a real contender. so thats good anyway and there s no need to worry

Ustonov is a big puddycat , he's been around a long time, despite his record he's not close to top tier
He's slow and doesn't have the desire imo
He hasn't really beaten anyone , plenty of top 10 guys would beat him comfortably
