  • Comments Thread For: Haye: I Might've Been KO'd By Bellew Legitimately, Without Injury

Tony Bellew's stubborn critics claim he wouldn't have stopped David Haye had the former heavyweight champion not suffered an Achilles' injury earlier in their March 4 fight. Haye himself isn't so sure. The London native surprisingly admitted as part of an interview with Sky Sports on Wednesday that Bellew might've been able to knock him out seven months ago in London even if he hadn't sustained that debilitating injury in the sixth round.

As they say the fighter is always the last to know.Imagine struggling and being beaten by a guy who i'm sure could still make light heavy if it warn't for Stevenson being there!
Regardless this is a nothing fight at heavyweight just imagine clearly what AJ. would do to this pair one after the other ....no joke.

Haye is either beeing way to classy, or selling the fight subliminally. Let's give the man the benefit of the doubt. If he connects properly he could still KO any of the active champions. Still excited about Haye

Bellew could maybe make that weight but It wouldn't be safely!. LOL so now your saying he moved up to fight a heavyweight who punches harder then Stevenson to avoid Adonis? think about things. He's not a light heavy that's why he's not there and that's why he hasn't been beaten since moving up!!

Not Patronising you but, Think about what you're saying, Sense may come out your mouth if you do.

Seriously doubt Tony could still make 175 (or fight effectively at LHW more to the point) dude was always tall for a 175lber and had reportedly had problems boiling down for years. Sure the Stevenson loss might have been good motivation to try out at Cruiser, but he turned 31 on the night of the Stevenson fight and typically from age 30 or so draining becomes exponentially more difficult... no way would he still be able to fight at 175 four years later.

But yeah. This fight really ain't anything significant outside of the amusing potential for BS and trash talk between the two protagonists.

Haye is finished already, and Bellew will get finished by any fighter with a pulse and a bit of a punch.

If Haye was trying to sell the fight, this is not what he would have said...he would have said no way does Bellow beat a healthy Haye lose the rematch.....so I think he is either being realistic or doesnt want to have to eat his words if he cannot win the rematch.

I see Haye has enrolled at the Floyd Mayweather school of selling a mismatch
