Sylvester Stallone doesn't know how to direct movies as a hole, whenever he has done it he has ruined what he already established. With Rocky it was cheesy sequels milking down the first movies impact. First Blood II is pretty damn entertaining but lets get real here he brought down the story to a completely ridiculous caricature both in terms of the character and warfare itself. Now with this Creed business he taints the Rocky story universe by Apollo having cheated resulting in an illegitimate son wich is a pretty serious thing merely to be used as a plot device.

The man simply doesn't how to direct and write manuscripts properly and when he lucks and strikes gold he will make sure to flush it all down in the toilet.

Sylvester Stallone is like an Alchemist. He can turn sh.t into gold. He is extremely successful in whatever he does in the movie business. Can't really knock the guy. He's parlayed Rocky and it's sequels into a worldwide success.

Looking forward to this. Creed Jr vs Drago Jr., although idk about Stallone directing it. That guy who did the last one did a great job & is one of the new quality guys coming up in film right now. Stallone is just the standard actor/director. Rocky will probably play a bigger part in this sequel cuz of Stallone's ego if you counted the screen time I bet lol.

Will come down to the story that gets told, more than anything

If Stallone continues forward with Coogler's story ("Pretty" Ricky Conlan going to jail gives the underdog fighter an opportunity, where he shows the world he can actually fight, etc), Stallone could be sitting on something special (the logical next story would be Jordan vs Ward, in a Battle for Apollo's Delphi Gym and the light heavyweight championship).

If Stallone takes what Coogler has set up, and simply starts a new story, the whole thing may end up being just one big cluster**** (if the hints are true, Drago is at least in his mid-50s by this point, and throwing "Drago's son" into the mix would throw the self-discovery story off in a big way); maybe it works, maybe it doesn't, but you'd be testing out a new formula.

Isn't Creed II supposed to put him up against Ivan Drago? So basically, they are molding him after Wilder...fighting washed up nobodies.

how is drago a nobody?? I'll have you know that there's no shame in losing to an all time great like rocky balboa. And had the referee in that fight been more competent, drago should've won that fight by tko. He dropped rocky about 10 times which resulted in rocky getting brain damage for God's sake.
