If it's sold out, move it over to the arena.

Yes, the MSG Theater capacity for boxing is 5,500. I believe they sold it out for the Rigo v. Donaire fight too.

Not familiar with the production costs associated with a move to the arena, but it seems fair to assume they could've sold 10k+ tickets for this fight.

I will add that ticket prices were high for this one though.

The theater at MSG is personally my favorite venue to watch boxing at. You can really see the action well. Rigo and Donaire actually fought at radio city music hall though. I went to that one. It was very nice as well.

You might be right lol the average ticket prices were so high that the live gate will be in the $1 million range (probably more). When I checked the cheapest seats were going for $145.

I've never watched a fight in the theater but based on my past experiences in that space, I imagine every seat gives you a pretty damn good look at the ring.

Rangers have a game at the main arena on that same date. I bought tickets for $56 which came out to a little over $70 after fees. Not too bad.

It should sell good,Conlan is fighting too and he brings in manny Irish fans, he could have probably sold this out on his own like he did in his first fight,i think they could have chosen a venue with more capacity then this venue, but for the people who will be able to witness the action there live and up closest will be a great experience

All the excuses were nobody would pay to see rigo fight ? All the duckers , including bob arum , would say rigo was unwatchable.
True that when there is a great fight , people pay to see it . Of course Loma is part of this success , of course .

Rigo can sell , they have been exposed .
