  • Comments Thread For: Trout Surprised Cotto Never Even Mentioned Rematch

Austin Trout has always wanted a chance to avenge his losses to Canelo Alvarez, Erislandy Lara and Jermall Charlo. The former WBA super welterweight champion cannot understand why Miguel Cotto never seemed to feel the same way about his lopsided loss to Trout. Nearly five years have passed since Trout made a name for himself by thoroughly out-boxing Cotto in their 12-round, 154-pound title fight at Madison Square Garden, and a rematch still hasn’t been brought up to Trout.

Because you'd win, and Cotto isn't interested in taking tough fights at this point in his career.

    Not really hard to understand.

Cotto won and got robbed by a Black guy... Generally, Blacks beat out Latinos and Latinos beat out Whites and Home Country generally beats out all else... in the rock-paper-scissors of gift decisions. See Mayweather v. Castillo, GGG v. Canelo, Pacquiao v. Bradley and De La Hoya v. Mosley 1 and especially 2, and then see De La Hoya v. Sturm.

Cotto beat Trout and got robbed because Trout is Black - simple as that.

I have to disagree with u on that one ma dude, Im a cotto fan, but that night it was just a cherry pick gone wrong, their were reports somewhere that Miguel did not train as usual and took the fight lightly ... I also gotta disagree with th race thing about him losing cause he was a black guy, the bate will not be taken... having said that I gotta respond to the next dude that responded to u

Nah, it was his last camp with Diaz, the Cuban trainer. They were on the outs during this camp and spent time in Big Bear to train, but left too early to go to Florida. The high altitude training had reverse effects because of the early move. I would probably venture to say that was Cotto on one of his worst nights against Trout on his best night.

                War Trojans!

I think he had rigos trainer Pedro Diaz at that time, but I are right the corner was weak as ever, last time he had a sorry corner and was basically training himself was when he fought PAC, he had his chief 2nd be his full time trainer, around that time he was a mess with the whole his uncle situation, but when he fought trout he thought it was a walk in the park and trained lightly
