Why is Joshua avoiding Wilder?

You are right. they should fight each other next. No more stalling please. The fight is huge now and doesn't need to marinate as the promoters say. Maybe they aren't confident AJ can beat Wilder. It's starting to look like it. I'll shove my jab down your throat sometime in 2020 doesn't sound like a guy who wants the fight all that bad.Comment

How long did canelo avoid ggg? Gotta marinate doe...
Seriously tho, if that fight can be made it should be. Nobody wants to see joshua vs pulev and wilder vs stiverne type fights anymore.Comment

Davis doesn't draw stadiums full of people in the UK, with the potential to create a big, superfight in the U.S. AJ has the tools to make this a superfight down the road. Davis doesn't.
But again, it doesn't seem like Hearn is going that route, so idk what they're trying to do, unless they maybe just want the fight in the UK.Comment

I'm starting to believe that Wilder and to an extent some of his fans are suffering from the same disorder as ChalieZ.
Wilder is an embarrassment to boxing and arguably the least skilled (worst) man to ever hold a HW strap or the WBC for that mater...I'm scratching my head at how he got a medal at the Olympics. Couple that with the fact that he is corny as f1ck, the man is simply hopeless...
But back to the topic...It AJ has a fight and other mandatories. Essentially Hearn/AJ are telling Wilder that they are the A side. They have three straps to defend and Wilder will come when THEY need/want him.
Also given that AJ is still riding the Wlad wave, his fans in the UK are more than happy to see him get a couple of soft touches in his defenses, couple that with the fact these "soft touches" are more of a fight than anything Wilder has to offer.
Wilder needs this fight because its a cash out. For AJ, after he wipes out Wilder what is there left to do? AJ will be like Wlad and very much enter fights as a heavy favorite and keep wiping out the division for years to come so its not an ideal business plan. So it makes sense to wait a while, and after the unification Wilder wave, get another couple of soft touches and this way you guarantee yourself 3-4 years or so of solid revenue stream. Than by 2022 or something some new guys are going to come through and AJ will either beat them or loose to them and retire.
Looks like the direction that boxing business in general is taking is one huge fight every few years for a fighter and then fillers. There is no intention to keep building on a good thing. It's all about protecting the 0 and long term investments.
You fight Wilder tomorrow, that's it. You'll sell a few fights after and people will stop coming to fights as you will be coming in as a -10000 favorite.
I think the Germans were much more willing to see the Klitschkos fight the likes of Leapai at stadiums than the Brits would be.Last edited by Banderivets; 10-10-2017, 07:16 AM.Comment

Wilder will fight AJ when AJ tells him to, and not a day earlier.
Bum Squad needs to shut the fuck up and keep crushing them cans till The Man sends for him.Comment
