Yes it does mean Wilder ducked whyte if he hadn't signed to fight Ortiz, but since he did sign to fight him then had to face the mandatory on short notice when Ortiz shît his pants that means he didn't duck whyte. Just because AJ has a reason for ducking doesn't mean hes not ducking it just means he is ducking 2 make more vs bums, which is by definition somewhat ducking. When has a fighter ducked for any other reason than to make more vs bums?

Think itll be Miller in the US as his first fight, if Ortiz gets banned that is. You've got Roman Gonzalez at no2 in the WBA rankings, Yafai/Gonzalez as chief support.
Maybe Joshua/Wilder at Wembley in the summer. Although if Haye has the WBO by that time they'll go Joshua/Haye at Wembley, too much money in that fight
Joshua/Wilder in Vegas end of the year
Wilder IMHO should fight Whyte next once he gets Bern sti out of the way, and then see what happens next.Comment

He does have an excuse, even though he could've tried to push to fight Ortiz whos his wba mando. but chose the far weaker mando nobody wants to see. But I don't begrudge him for fighting mandatory challengers,im a fan of AJ too. I think he has a very good chance at koing wilder. And before u say he didn't choose pulev over ortiz,he absolutely did,he wanted no part of Ortiz first, though I don't count it as a duck as hes the cashcow & its smart to fight pulev. I just don't give him much props for that SEMI-weak win hell surely get. I wouldve given him mad respect for picking the tougher fight which also generates more audience, but I understand why he did it as its the safer move in his career at this point in time & hes playing the long game.Last edited by kushking; 10-10-2017, 10:36 AM.Comment

He has two mandatories, he is fighting the weaker one. and i don't begrudge him just because he only just fought Klit who actually KD. Let Wilder fight someone tough first.. And for the record I pick Wilder to beat Joshua like i have done over the last 2 years.Comment

I am in the camp that thinks both have basically taken same amount of chances,AJ just is the A-side so he rightfully is being looked after more. I just don't rate his win over klit as highly as most on here,& I count Ortiz as a win for Wilder because he got his bîtch ass to use roids from fear of getting stomped & Wilder would've won imo,& anytime someone uses roids they should get a loss imo,I wish Joshua fought Ortiz next just to see him stomped but at same time I hate to think he gets the lotto payday despite being roided to the gills.Comment

Am not actually pumped yet for this AJ v Wilder fight like i use to for HW back in those days because both of them haven't done much yet, Joshua definitely brought his name up with the Wlad fight no matter how anyone tries to downplay that victory....Wilder needs to do the same and a victory over king kong would have done that and propell the Aj v Wilder fight tenfolds but at the moment it is what it is.Comment

In terms of chances i would say 50-50 too, the only reason i have Joshua over Wilder in that terms is because he only has like 19 fights, it took Wilder double that amount and Joshua has got there in less years as a boxer (Pro and amateur), this is why i said Wilder fighting someone like Whyte is actually more productive for his career than his rematch with Bern Stiverne.

And I do give Joshua props 4 koing klit but I would've gave him way more credit if he chose Ortiz instead of Pulev,& imo Wilder doesn't want no part of whyte as hes too much of a risk without enough reward as if Wilder loses to AJ then no big deal his career can recover, potential rematch etc.etc. & wilder will make a boatload also, but vs whyte way less upside & would never live that down.Comment

Wilder fans are hilarious. They criticize Joshua because he got dropped by an aging Vlad when Wilder, in his damn near 40 pro bouts hasn't fought anyone remotely as good as Klitschko. Let's remove the double standard and keep things on an even playing field. Both Joshua and Wilder are still learning on the job even though they are considered the elite in their division and Wilder has shown desire lately to face top level competition but so far he hasn't fought anyone elite, regardless of his supposed intentions, and has looked vulnerable against lesser opposition like the drummer boy, Eric Molina, a fighter that Joshua dispatched in short order without allowing to get close to him. Styles make fights and both are still undefeated but Joshua's resume in near 20 fights is better than Wilder's resume in near 40 fights. Neither fighter had an extensive amateur career so criticizing Joshua for his level of opposition is more than a little bit hypocritical for Wilder fans.Comment
