LOL at all the people who thought HBO was getting out of the boxing business any time soon.

Great, I can't wait to hear more obvious points and meaningless squabble about a fighters missed punches being called like their landed!

Oh how I so anticipate Lampley's phantom punches being called and his witless back an forth with Harold Lederman!

Jim Lampley: " We have here a very competitive fight! And now we'll go over to Harold Lederman our HBO Unofficial Scorecard keeper! Harold, how do you have it?"

Harold Lederman: I, Ok Jim, I have seen some easy to score fights in my time but this one is the easiest!
One guy is getting beat up and backpedaling and the other guy is throwing all the punches and coming forward! I mean Jim, you gotta come forward to win fights and he's just not doing it!
I have it 92-86, and back to you Jim"

There's two Lampleys. The excited, boxing fan that commentates today and is into fights. And the other one is the indifferent couldn't care less Lampley of the 80s to early 90s. One of the biggest upsets in boxing, he called the KO in like he was reading a news report:

Douglas KOs Tyson "And down goes Tyson" delivered dryly and without emotion

and there's also the water he poured on Naseem Hamed's entrances and derided him along with Merchant. Here's a guy that attracted new boxing fans and brought attention to the small guys, and him and Lampley were like old todgers blabbering all over the entrances with, "some wish he'd fly to the North Pole", "and he comes in with a MJ son, forgetting almost a decade of music since then". Now he's desperate and screams his head off whenever there's a flurry now that boxing has declined. I blame him and Merchant. They were party ******s and turned people off and were the reason Tyson and Mayweather left HBO for Showtime with their "I cant believe people paid for this" because Tyson went more than 8 rounds (WTF!?) and mentioned Mayweather's domestic abuse case in the middle of fights. ****heads.

Could easily see Jim Lampley being "the voice of HBO Sports", with Roy/Max sticking for the few boxing cards that HBO will still run, while Lampley acts as a familiar face to convince the HBO boxing subscriber to give this MMA a chance.
Huh, that would be quite the interesting endeavor to see MMA/UFC on the HBO airwaves. Very interesting.

Have you ever stopped to think that people have different likes and opinions? I'm of the camp that like Jim Lampley and don't take what he says as gospel every time out.

Every broadcast team sticks to their networks agenda. Have you listened to the Showtime commentary team? ****ing homers on both sides so this "bias" talk is just a *****ing about the sky being blue.
