There's no room for racism on these boards. Just because you're upset and have no outlet for your hatred and no one else to blame for your failures in life it does not give you the right to attack a whole race of people. Grow up boy.

Its hard for me to comprehend that someone could not find a way to keep that gym going. I mean take donations, whatever...But whats done is done, but do you two idiots have to argue over such ****** things? Its like arguing over whether Jack the Ripper was Irish or English...
Tommy Hearns was down there mourning the place while it was still smoldering enough to roast marshmallows but he couldn't keep the gym going? Buildings like that in Detroit cost about 10k

Well if you are ever on fire I might piss on you to put you out if you would open your mouth.

I know I remember that situation when Manny passed, with Hearns stepping up... Thats what I mean, how hard could it be?...I don't understand how they couldn't come up with a way to keep it going. Its just sad. It reminds me of the time when I was a kid and my dad would play catch with me. We decided we would go over to Hoboken New Jersey to play catch on the original baseball field, from our place in East Harlem New York City...I mean SURELY THEY WOULD KEEP THE ORIGINAL BASEBALL FIELD AROUND TO COMMEMURATE OUR NATIONAL SPORT? RIGHT?!!

We get there and there is a general mills factory and a small plaque, the size of maybe an air conditioner that states this was the area where the first baseball game was played.

It just sucks! These monuments could be put aside, wouldn't that have made an excellent little league field at least? Couldn't someone have kept up the gym instead of burning it down?

          You couldn't squat that high.

They could have made a museum of Kronk but what they really needed to do was keep it as a gym. It's ****** to let something like that go to ruin then after something like this for them to start crying about it. That sucks about the baseball field. In my crappy hometown everything is still exactly the same which is good I guess. Including the baseball diamonds both my Pops and I competed on. I still drive by them when I go home. It's like a time warp. Even the paint and smells are the same. Sucks you dont have that.

Looks like Jermain Taylor was the last guy to give a **** ass about the place. No excuse for something like this:

LOL at being salty for the truth coming out. Detroit is a run down PoS and will stay that way until the entire political establishment is replaced top to bottom.

Yeah it sucks and the irony is there are guys in places like outer Mongolia, Kazistan, etc that would give their power arm to experience training at one of the original boxing gyms. They get it!

You have Real estate syndacites that bought up large swarths of Detroit... and not a one of these bank sponsered greedy batards could do something to save a landmark. If I had the money I would find a way to preserve some of those prewar luxury apartments in the city. They do not and will never build like that again! I grew up in a prewar building, the toilets don't have a tank, they all go directly into a feed pipe and the suction on those babies forget about it! you could flush a bowling ball in some of those toilets!

LOu cipher I am getting all nostralgic!! fr fvkssake!
