  • Comments Thread For: Klitschko Shocked Golovkin-Canelo Went Distance, Felt GGG Won

Retired former heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko felt Gennady Golovkin did more than enough to earn a twelve round unanimous decision win over Canelo Alvarez last month at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The fight ended in a draw and it was the scorecard of Adalaide Byrd who has since been stood down that provided the biggest talking point, with Canelo the winner on her card by 118 to 110.

"We can't put Gennady's career on hold"

Yep, the world doesn't revolve around Mexican Holidays.....

"Nobody expected it was going to go the distance..... when you don't have [a] clear win for one of the fighters, when it goes to points. You can go in either direction because sometimes people have different views."

we'd be more selective with the officials that were assigned. [Byrd's] scoring system doesn't fit GGG's style, so that gives an argument not to have her involved

K2, keeping it more real than they have in the past.

Wladimir admitting that it was close.

Loeffler admitting that Byrd scored for the boxer over the pressure fighter, because the pressure fighter was often ineffective.

Shocked there wasn't a KO when one guy backed up and couldn't get passed a jab, and only fought about 1 minute of every round?

For Goodness Sake, Texas Boxing is worse than Las Vegas. Texas has had even more FU'd scores than Las Vegas. Just watch Lomachenko get punched in the balls 30 times by a referee who's Daddy runs boxing in Texas.

Fight in MSG.. Make sure Golovkin is the A-side or at least even in all decisions and payments this time.. He's STILL the Champ. Golden Boy no longer has leverage.

And I was SHOCKED someone could literally miss almost 500 PUNCHES and be considered P4P #1...

Yeah I'm with you on Texas usually having WAY worse scored cards.

I think he too was expecting GGG to KO Canelo.

Ggg has an uphill battle. 1. Canelo has the age advantage. 2. Canelo is the A side so he has no reason to fight in NY or anywhere else when he already knows judges will bend over backwards to give him credit for rounds in Vegas and Texas. 3. Knocking Canelo out isn't likely because he can take a punch and will only fight moving away vs ggg.

Yeah you could say your pretty ineffective when your swinging and hitting air 70% of the fight for a UNHEARD of 500 MISSED punches!!!

It's OBVIOUS Abel was too busy being a media HOR and doing 1,000's of interviews before the fight instead of training his fighter. He left Helen Keller to train GGG... And it SHOWED! HOLY SHT some of his punches were so wide and SLOPPY I didn't know WHAT the *** he was even trying to hit???

Won't let me even post the best ones??? MAN Canelo CLEARLY landed the harder blows...
