Quillin had that chance to fight on HBO, he'd rather give up his title. (Pls, don't cite the JZ/Haymon rift. It's entirely irrelevant.)
Guerrero, Collazo, Porter, and Garcia; Keith Thurman's last four fights and, if folks were honest about it, not all that much fluff. Santa Cruz vs Mares 2 is the next big fight up, and would've happened now were it not for Santa Cruz wanting to wait.

The rebuilding fighters/prospects can basically be as active as they want, but the fighters beyond a certain level are only going to put their bodies through the rigors of a hard camp for meaningful fights. Activity for activity's sake isn't always that great.

Terence Crawford had a real fight with Viktor Postol, two BS fights, a meaningful fight against Indongo (Indongo had shown flashes, but no one really knew how good he actually was), a planned BS fight to close out the year, and a rumored meaningful fight against Jeff Horn in early 2018. What would've been so wrong with just cutting out the BS and giving the fans the Postol fight, the Indongo fight, and the Horn fight in 2018? Because that's basically the Haymon model, especially at the top level.

Can try to spin the Quillin fiasco however you want, the public still ended up getting Jacobs-Quillin in a 50/50 fight, with both fighters having no other worries but to fight (And please quit lying to yourself; the bid was one by RocNation, at a time where they had no relationship with HBO and in a world where Bob Arum loaths to be second fiddle to anyone).

lol. Nobody wants to get or enjoys getting punched in the face; even fighters. If you could 1 or 2 hard fights, and get paid about as much as you would've for four tickover fights, most folks will save the camp miles on their bodies and take the lighter schedule.

I really hope Jacobs is successful but up until the GGG fight, Jacobs career was really not existence. I'm not saying it's all his fault but after getting KO'd by Pirog years ago, Jacobs has been fighting nothing but D-C level fighters. He never challenged himself until he decided to fight GGG. Yes, Jacobs did better than people expected but if the highlight of your career is going the distance with another fighter, something is wrong. I know he wants a rematch with GGG, which won't come until 2019 or if ever! So what will Jacobs do until then? Will he continue fighting D-C level fighters or will he challenge himself? Signing with Hearn is good but does it push Jacobs to move away from the Mora of world? Time will tell but I wouldn't be my money on Jacobs fighting stellar competition based on his entire career!

Feel free to STFU now about Jacobs leaving Al Haymon.

Jacobs just flat out confirmed here that this IS NOT true.

The whole middle weight division is D-C guys. GGG is king there and he him self is B level when it comes down to it. His best attributes are his chin and power and it's done him wonders. But to be elite your best attributes are mostly movement, reflexes, you know skills, talents.

Jacobs can stay with Haymon as long as he lives. Who cares?
The issue is why is he leaving Showtime?

What do you mean who cares? The agenda by some posters these past 2 weeks has been about how Danny Jacobs finally "got smart" by leaving Al Haymon and going with Eddie Hearn.

But those posters have been proven wrong yet again since Jacobs didn't leave Haymon at all.
