I don't know what to call the division but I think it's a fair idea. If your a 6' 210 heavyweight today your at a huge disadvantage. Aside from Mike Tyson there hasn't been a small heavyweight that could lead the division and he did have more trouble with real tall fighters. My favorite modern heavyweight Evander Holyfield had a hard time with guys 6'5 and above. Personally when I was boxing at 6'4 and fought a muscular fighter at 6'9 It was definitely a new experience for me. The fight was the only uncompetitive fight I can remember having.Comment

It would make sense purely from a safety stand point. A 6'2, 210 guy shouldn't be fighting a 6'8, 280 walking monster.
Sure. You could pull anecdotal evidence and say, "oh but what about that time that this guy did this. He was outweighed by 70 pounds." Yes. That's true. But that's like 1 out of 100 occurrences. It's the same thing as having Leo Santa Cruz fight a super middleweight.
Then part of me thinks to myself, does this sport really need another weight class? I think what makes the most sense is to expand the cruiserweight weight and have it end at 225. Get rid of the smaller heavyweights.
Idk. I was never really a fan of all the "supers" and "lights" to begin with. If they're going to split the heavyweights, get rid of all those extra classes. It does get ridiculous after awhile.Comment
