PD: There is a list of experts running around, with a lot of MMA and wrestling commenters, and also many former or active professional boxing fighters, i decided to include in this list, only the true BOXING experts, people with a lot of years in the sport and focused on boxing.
For me, a lot of those 116-112 score for GGG could easily be called a DRAW too if these guys had a chance to re-score the fight on punches that actually landed.

I think you can say Canelo and GGG each won 4 Rd's of this fight where they produced their best work in. That still leaves 4 swing rds open to debate that could have gone to either guy depending on which of their work you liked in the round.

Most people went for the quantity and volume of GGG's work over Canelo's quality and counter punching in those 4 swing rds. I personally preferred Canelo's work in these rounds.

Either way, A DRAW was a Fair result and when idiots like Teddy Atlas start calling the result a Robbery and Corruption, he is doing more harm to boxing then good.

Of cause the 118-110 Bryd card was terrible but we have to remember that two of the judges produced credible cards

I actually have it the other way. I thought a draw was a good call when watching it live, and only had an issue with Byrd's card.

After rewatching the fight closely, it is much easier to score the fight for Golovkin because so many highlight-worthy punches that Canelo 'landed' were fully or partially blocked. For example, in the 1st round that everyone gave to Canelo, he basically landed 2 good shots the whole round, with one "body" shot (~1:20) that looked good actually landing low. Those 2 pretty combos Canelo threw at the end of the 1st didn't even come close to landing - hit 100% glove.

That kept happening throughout the fight - Canelo threw a lot of pretty shots, a lot of which were at least partially blocked. I end up with 116-112 for Golovkin.

Well you obviously see what you wanted to see. Sure some of Canelo's punches may not have landed cleanly but i guarantee that a whole lot more of GGG's definitely didn't land.

I just need to look at GGG's face at the end of this fight to know who landed the more effective punches.

He should rematch Lara while he's at it

Lara did nothing in that fight to justify a rematch and has done nothing since that fight except fight C Level fighters.

Once Canelo disposes of GGG, if Lara wants it he can get it too.

Yea it was for sure a close fight & idk why all the uproar personally. I mean I can understand people seeing GGG's aggression winning the day & it did with most people who saw the fight BUT it was still close for the overwhelming majority of people who had GGG winning.

When a guy wins by a round on most fans & pundits card at best then its a close f#cking fight & a close f#cking fight like this was can go either way when we narrow down the scoring to any 3 of those people.

Just look at the guys listed & you can come up with things going either way by people you may often agree with.

Bernstein, Mannix & Connor Rebusch (3 guys I greatly appreciate & agree with wayyyyy more often than I disagree with them) = a split draw.

A draw was within the margin of error of scoring & so would have a GGG win or even a Canelo win. It was just a close f#cking fight.

                    LMAO

If this is really Atlas' score then he's an even bigger JOKE than is Adalaide Byrd...

While I agree that Alvarez should rematch Lara, at the very least, he had the gonads to fight Lara in the first place.

The Triple Duck, OTOH, is still ducking...
