Its funny because this Cotto vs Paulie stuff happened just after I got finish watching the Cotto vs Torres fight and to prove to some of you that Im not hating on Cotto check this out.
I was saying the whole time that I think Cotto wont be that good at 147 because he gets hurt now and wont have the size advantage at 147 but now Ive change my mind. You never can tell for sure because every fighter is different. He still could do just like I say and not have the size advantage and get KO by the bigger punchers but he could actually be pretty good.
What changed my mind was that I was looking at Cotto and he looked funny looking. His body, his shape, and his facial expressions. He looked drain and he looked like his body was literaly being forced into a weight that it doesnt belong in. Then watching the fight you could see that Torres was good but Cotto also was just literaly too big for his own body.
I think at 147 his body will look more natural, he will feel much better, wont be drained, and will be able to take a punch much better.
This is another reason why Im starting to think his weigh in was moved up. They said he was supposed to come in smaller for this fight but I think he really might be struggling to make the weight, will weigh in at 140 on the dot, and may have to weigh in twice. I think they are worried that he really maybe drained for this fight and will be hard to chase down Paulie for 12 rounds.
I think he has big fights on the table at 140 with Castillo, Chico, Harris, and maybe even Hatton but I wouldnt be surprised to see him turn them all down unless its at 147. I dont think he can make the weight anymore even for big money.
Im really interested to see how he looks at 147 because what weve seen at 140 hasnt been great and he's struggling more and more every fight. I think he looks much better at 147 and would love to see him fight anyone in his next fight. I think he may surprise some people even if he struggles or loses against Paulie
