Rigo has been dropped a few times. Donaire, Marroquin and even the Japanese guy dropped him twice. Hard to think that Loma wouldnt.

That being said, Rigo (like Loma) is incredibly skilled boxer. I cant wait to see this, hopefully we will see a proper masterpiece of a boxing match here filled with beautiful movement

Pernell whitaker has been floored more in his career than De la hoya and Mosley. Do they have better defense?

Whitaker was down 3 times in 45 fights, fighting all-time greats. Don't compare that to Rigo who fought nobodies and was down 4 times.

Whitaker was dropped TWICE vs Hurtado and had he not rallied for a ko win late, he would not have fought De la Hoya. Was dropped agaisnt Tito late in his career, Rivera, and Vasquez and that's off the of my head. That's 5. I've followed Sweet Pea his whole career. Still got SI magazines with him on the cover from my high school days when he was the best fighter in the world.

But Lomachenko isn't a power puncher. He's a high volume puncher. He overwhelms his opponents with pressure. I'm trying to figure out when Lomachenko became his power puncher.

Skills and eye test I guess. But the folks that put him so high often criticize Loma for his resume and lack of fights so go figure.

Come on. Just because you get dropped doesn't mean you have bad defense. At the end of the day everybody is going to get hit during the fight no matter how good you are defensively.
Some can just take it better than others due to having a better chin, for example.
Think about it right. There could be a fighter that has a fantastic chin and never goes down but basically gets hit with every single shot. Does that mean he has better defense than Rigo or Whitaker?

It's the same thing when people say Loma has bad defense just because he ends up with a bruise during/after the fight.
Loma has light skin and his skin doesn't appear to be thick, so he can get bruised up or cut easier than others.
There are other fighters with light complexion but have thick skin which makes them less susceptible to getting cut.
If that makes any sense.
