Is hearn the most profitable promoter at this point?

Seems that the balance of power has shifted somewhat. I mean, Hearn takes club fighters in England and nearly sells out stadiums. I think Jacobs will gross a lot of money for him.

Does England have more casuals? To support fights? It's as if the UK is content with two people throwing hand than being concerned with who those people are, if they are undefeated etc.

I doubt we'll ever know the answer to that question. Can't imagine any of the major promoters want it known how much they are making out in the public.

He knows how to tap the UK market, that's for sure. I don't think his approach would be nearly as successful in the US because fans here don't have that kind of loyalty (not bashing, just saying it's not as easy to market here) but he's doing well. I can't stand most of the fights he makes but he's giving boxing a boost there so good on him.

UK has a massive casual fanbase who'll watch whoever the big band is at the time, plus a lot of people who'll watch Saturday night cards on Sky Sports with a few beers, and that's before you get to the hardcore fans. Boxers tend to get big local followings so Hearn can pretty much fill an arena anywhere. ****, 8,000 people turned up to watch Hughie Fury who I don't think has ever been on a major UK TV card and was out of the ring for 18 months.

I would say that being able to appreciate multiple levels of boxing is the opposite of being a casual

Source for that? Didn't look like 8,000 people were there to me. Pretty sure half of the arena was closed off

Yeah, the arena seats 21,000. 8,000 is actually a pretty awful attendance by UK standards.

Honestly wasn't expecting even that based on the terrible promotion and unappealing fights. Seemed like there was just a smattering of a crowd around the ring. I want to know how many PPVs it sold on YouTube too

                  This.

That's one of my big fan pet peeves with how many US commentators and many US fans talk about boxing. They talk down too much on guys more than appreciate what they are capable of doing even if it's less than the P4P discussed guys or just top 20 guys in a division.

Hearn has 1 megastar in AJ and otherwise puts on pretty standard mid-level bouts and sells them as a night out on the town, on occasion to dress up and all that.

He only signed up Jacobs to get in on the Canelo $, otherwise it's going to be a short stay for him here..
