Good for him. Also needs to be more calmer & smarter in a rematch.

He's fought all the credible fighters in his division and beat them. That's not carefull match making. As far as being well managed I think he's been poorly managed for the first part of his career.Comment

haha yea. It seems that as long as you're coming forward, regardless of punches landed, Lederman, Lampley, Atlas, and the casual fan will score rounds for you. If Sweet Pea was in his prime today, it would be damn near impossible for him to win a fight according the fans scoringComment

he didn't start fighting competition until he was in his mid 30s. That's no one's fault but his ownComment

is it a coincidence that once he stepped it up on competition, he immediately started to look like **** and has looked like **** the past 3 fights? Or are we gonna use the "old" excuse. Remember, he was supposed to blast Canelo out in 3 rounds or less according to Ledderman and most people. So as the fight went on, they had to sell the narrative that Canelo was getting the hell beat out of him, even when Triple**** was missing. So the people are watching a fight with their own eyes, seeing Triple**** missing punches but believing what's being told to themComment

Was he. I predicted a knockout of Jacobs but I also said he would more impressive if he won a decision. Most people that picked G to win predicted a KO. The thought was G is primarily a puncher. Right but wrong. He has boxing skills to get him out of trouble (so far) if his power fails. Canelo and Jacobs were supposed to "light Golovkin up like a Christmas Tree" according to his detractors. That didn't happen. Canelo spent the majority of the fight in a defensive posture. Being a defensive fighter doesn't mean retreating to the ropes and getting outlanded there. That's what happened. It doesn't mean retreating because you have to. If you want to see an example of defensive fighters that use their defense to provide opportunities to land punches look at Sweet Pea Whittiker or Willie Pep. Those guys were defensive minded to achieve a purpose. Canelo simply ran out of ideas. His defense was predictable and didn't vary. Jacobs and Canelo were outboxed. I think it's a commendable achievement when a fighter's primary weapon doesn't do it for him and he has the boxing skills to make up for it.Comment

Look you throw around the term bum to suit you arguement. Jacobs isn't a bum. He came to win against Golovkin not just to show up for a payday. It didn't work out but he isn't a bum. You owe him an apology..Comment

It was a flash knockdown. When ever I hear this silly argument I can't help but think the guy talking is a noob. Jacobs had hurt Mora and was in destroy mode. He got caught with a good punch while being reckless. He got up and continued his pursuit of Mora. He was aggressive right after being dropped.
