Hasn't Tyson admitted as such? He was pissed cuz of the headbutts & just didn't give a f#ck at that point. Wanted out of the fight, got out of the fight.

Well that's neither now or there. I thought that the referee did a horrible job of officiating that bout. He allowed the situation to get out of hand, by allowing Holyfield to lead with his head causing butts and cuts and didn't do anything about it.

As we all know, boxers are taught if your opponent his allowed to bend the rules then so must you and that's exactly what Tyson did. He may have gone a bit too far but he was playing by the set of rules that were dealt to him and you have to blame the referee Mills Lane for not taking control of that fight by enforcing them.

It reminds me of the Chavez/Whitaker bout. Chavez thought that he was going to come in and just rough Pernell up without any repercussions but Whitaker had another thought coming.

After his failed appeals to the ref, for Chavez' roughhouse tactics; Whitaker stood his ground and took matters into his own hands by retaliating and getting just as physical, down and dirty as Julio was.

in training camps, fighters look at film. study it and hopefully learn from it. many forward fighters lead with their heads. not always on purpose. its just part of the attack form....

crouch down, dip your head (minimizing the area that can be hit) while moving forward to throw punches. place 2 forward fighters in the ring and heads may clash.

The bandwagon for Holyfield v Tyson III begins........(just kidding, but with the amount of cr@p going on these days.....).

But the question of 'why did Tyson do whatever ?' is a bit like 'why did Trump....?'. The best legal minds can only surmise its 'Trump/Tyson being Trump/Tyson'.

Holyfield frustrated the hell out of Tyson with the use of his head and clinching, also beating him to the punch, and Tyson couldn't find a way past it to fight his normal fight.
