will hopkins thorw titles away to avoid fighting strum?

ya ya i dont care how much u dont like sturm but seriously if hopkins does beat eastman he HAS TO fight sturm unless he dumps the wbo AND the wbc title if im not mistaken ( i think sturm is number 2 or 3 in wbc standings) so will hopkins throw the wbo to avoid fighting sturm and possibly the wbc?

After 20 defenses, I don't think he's worried about titles anymore. He's after money.

Sturm isn't a big money fight unless Felix beats someone with a big name.

I'm surprised Bernard's "looking to" Glen Johnson at this point. But it appears with Johnson's 2 wins at the end of '04 that he's in better shape than Sturm. Sturm should have used the momentum from the DLH fight and fought another Top 10 opponent.

Actually he doesn't have to fight Sturm...First Trinidad is the mandatory also and most likely he will fight the winner of Tito-Winky cuz that's the only big payday for him right now...Nard needs to fight another star like Tito, Winky, or Taylor to make a ppv...

Do you actually know Strum? Or are you from the same village or something, I don't get it.

Well, if it only would've been that easy for Felix. After he fought (and beat) DLH there were no too many opportunities for him to get his hands on any Top 10 opponent because most of them had already fights scheduled or are in a career (re)building process. Sturm is a high risk for medicore money.

That being said he fought some decent competition in Robert Frazier for the worthless WBO Intercontinental Title and knocked out former World Champ Hassine Cherifi (who is spent though). If I'm right he's got a fight scheduled against Bert Schenk (former WBO Champ). I really hope that he doesn't end up as a milk cow in handpicked fights for German TV.

I'd love to see him in action against Hopkins or Trinidad ... even Taylor'd be great. That's exactly what his career needs if he has (and he should've) the ambition to become the next undisputed Middleweight Champion.

This guy is my favourite fighter so I might be a bit biased.

The only reason Hopkins would avoid Sturm is to avoid a pointless and meaningless exsercise that won`t pay out that much! If Hopkins ventures away from the middleweight division is has nothing to do with *****, i mean sturm.
Tito offers a decent payday at middleweight but considering their fight a few yrs ago not much of a challenge. Glen Johnson would bring lightheavyweight reconition but little else. I would venture to say, and this sounds a bit rediculous, the biggest payday for Hopkins would be Zab Judah. Hopkins can make 154 and if Judah were to come up that would be a huge payday with little risk. I`m sure Judah nut huggers will make some excuse as to why Judah would win, but that ok, it`ll only help sell the fight.
Apart from that, i can`t see any meaningful fights for Hop, he`d just have to tread old groud!
