Paulie is a boxer only never claimed to be a mma fighter. Not only does mcgregor claim he can box he claims he know learned enough to beat Floyd.

But does Paulie actually bring more money to the table in a boxing match than Nate Diaz does in an MMA fight? I don't see it. I actually don't see a Paulie boxing match being bigger than any Conor UFC fight.

I just don't think anyone cares enough about Paulie. Nate Diaz clearly brings a few hundred K added pay-per-view buys.

Mcgregor sounds like he's no longer confident of beating Paulie in a boxing ring.

Notice how he's changed his tune...it's either come to UFC or a real fight, no more mention of boxing. Mayweather humbled him.

So blatantly obvious McWelfare is running scared from Malignaggi. If he fights Malignaggi in Boxing and gets stopped, career/life/existence/legacy is over.

May sound that way to you and a few others. But if you deal in reality, friends, you'd know that in either sport, Paulie would be pummeled as bad as he was vs Porter. Having said that, I'd guess most fans would likely prefer the fight be boxing, not MMA.

What a thoughtful, insightful, intelligent post. Bravo, one of the best posts of the year. Let's make a thread about Paulie Malignaggi without the speed. We also need to make a thread in the fantasy section - Paulie vs Duran, would he have lasted 5 rounds? Nycsmooth just provided us with an intensely thought provoking post here folks.

An asset strippping fantasy section would be great, take away Hopkins ring smarts, frochs chin, Julian Jacksons power, golotas finishing move to the plums and throw them all in the mix, wouldn't be a total waste of time at all.

Rather than hypothesise about how Paulie would have done without speed I prefer to respect his accomplishments in the game given he's one of the pound for pound most feather fisted boxers ever.
Can't acccuse him of not having a pair with the calibre of fighter he's gone up against without even the power to keep them honest.

He needed to come to boxing for Floyd, he does not need to come to boxing for Malignaggi dollars, quite the opposite in this case. He also has to defend that UFC title of his so boxing would not be an option unless he's willing to get stripped.
