This response illustrates that the whole point of the protest went right over your head. The protests that following Sunday were to show solidarity to the people who Trump insulted and to show Trump they would not be bullied. Was it a protest against Trump yes. But it was only a protest against Trump that Sunday. One protest does not define a protest that started long before Trump ever became President.

And for fuuck's sake. Why are you ok with a draft dodging coward who degrades the service of an actual war hero being the standard bearer for protecting our soldiers honor.



You have the right to your opinion. You're wrong and don't seem to understand the real motivation behind the protest but you have the right to your opinion. Personally, I think people who ignore the message of the protests because they are so caught up with how the message is being sent are the real reason why this country cannot stand together.

The reason this conversation is going no where is because of the following reasons.

1. You are adament that the players are disrespecting the flag without showing any comprehension of why they are protesting during the national anthem.

2. You are more concerned about the method of protest than the meaning behind the protest.

3. You repeatedly say they are protesting a tweet despite the fact that I showed evidence that it wasn't just a tweet AND that the protests started long before Trump was in office.

Colin Kapernick first started the protest before the first game of the 2016 preseason. So they didn't wait until September to take a knee they have been doing it for a while. If you're not willing to acknowledge that fact then don't bother responding. Next time you watch a PPV I hope the show gets interrupted and they play a Madonna or Rosie Odonnel protest in 20 sec intervals during each minute of each round. Now that would be inconvenient. Once again, protesting is taking action. Its not just talking. And you are just assuming they aren't talking to underprivileged youth. They are. At the very least each and every team in every sport has some level of community interactions and volunteerism. The players involved are likely doing their own stuff as well. There are a lot of players involved and we'd have to go through each player individually to see what else they are doing. I don't think you're willing to do the work because its easier for you to stick with your hateful assumptions. As such I won't bother with it either.

Absolutely not. Both MLK and the football protesters participated in non-violent protests. That's taking action. As for the giving speeches part. Considering you just said "talking is not doing" I think its more than a little ironic you are hyping up MLK's speeches which is literally just talking.

First of all, unless you're going to the game chances are you're watching it on TV. So its not nearly the same thing as paying 60-100 on a pay per view. The only time you have to pay to watch a football game on tv is if you pay for one of those packages that allow you to watch every game. And to that I say watching TV is doing less than just talking about stuff. Secondly, the protests are only during the national anthem. Its not the same thing as a protest after every down. Stop being dramatic.
